Happy Sunday everyone (or whichever day you're watching this)! Hope y'all are well. I'm back with a laid back podcast episode for you today. We're revisiting some projects from last week and I'm giving you an update on the "mama blanket". It's officially DONE! Also, I had something adorable delivered and I want to share those with you....and to top it off, I'm giving you a behind the scenes craft room tour since I've recently done an organization overhaul on my closet. Get comfy and enjoy! Thank you for watching. ❤ Today's links can also be found here: www.woolneedleshands.com/show-links/may21

I'm turning 50 this year. The fact that your vintage yarn has held up for 50 years and still looks great is quite heartening ;-) Also - wrt some comments below, I have OCD (not cleaning related). I understand why people still use the term OCD in their general vernacular wrt being orderly etc and I probably used it that way myself before I was diagnosed. OCD is quite horrific though - it really is.

Anyone who has their grandma's sewing tin knows that buttons travel through time and generations, so those buttons might well be heirlooms one day. Wear them in good health and don't forget to harvest them once the cardi wears out!

SO good you're cleaning up of your space......functional! I love your finishing of your blanket. MUCH better without the tassels, clean complete lines. It looks great. Loving your podcasts and eduction. My favourite of your items you shared has to be your new/old bag reconstruction - the finished fabric looks amazing and in keeping with the handles. Really nice choice. Thanks Tayler. Go well.

Your comment about being organized keeping you calm made me think of Gretchen Rubin! I don't know if you've read any of her books, but Outer Order, Inner Calm is great. She really breaks down WHY we feel better when things are organized and HOW to build habits to keep things organized. All her books are delightful.

This sounds like a great read for me. I am very much that sort of person who NEEDS organization, order, and a clutter-free environment to stay centered and calm. I think most benefit from this, even if they don't embrace it in the same way. The whole idea of everything in its place and a place for everything is something I truly live by and it really helps to calm the noise. ❤

Talking about old stuff and buttons. When I go to the second hand stores, I look through the clothing and keep my eyes open for anything that has really cool buttons. If it's something I can't wear or is ugly, but has cool buttons, and it's cheap, I buy it and cut the buttons off. I also go to the yearly big fair size gathering of antiques and collectables and buy cool buttons from them. I love your new buttons and they are going to rock your cardigan! Right now I'm making the Stillness Shawl by Helen Stewart. I've made it before, but I needed to knit something that wasn't a sweater to get a break. I have some one of a kind skeins of yarn, so I've put 3 different yarns and colors together for this shawl. I'm trying to get my stash knit down low. Thank you for sharing all the things.

Amazing post today! I love the blanket--you did a great job. We always find work-arounds! Those buttons are just so delicate and elegant. Your Eileen bag looks great--that tape yarn is coming in very handy for both projects. What a terrific job on the closet/work space! Love what you did with that. Wonderful all the way thru the video - blanket sans tassels, MAL projects, buttons, work space, dog cameo! Tee shirt yarn is so soft but I find it hard on my joints because you really have to tug on it for crochet items. Had a few old band tee shirts when I worked at the old arena in Winnipeg. Not sure what became of them however I have a few treasured pins - Bowie's Let's Dance tour. Found a sweatshirt from a U2 concert I went to in Minneapolis and framed it. Good times!

Thank you! It is just like a Himalayan banner! It also makes me think I need to find a way to crochet a version of papel picado (Mexican party banners) to tap into my heritage. 😊

@@WOOLNEEDLESHANDS I had never heard of Papel Picado. They are beautiful! I searched in KZfaq, and there are actually crochet patterns for that!

Absolutely loved this video. The blanket looks so warm and cozy for your friend and I like that you ditched the tassels. You are such a great problem solver. Your room looks fantastic and I agree that organizing and getting rid of things not being used is so freeing. I am on a mission this year to only keep things in my home that are meaningful and being used. Thanks for sharing your home and cute little doggie!

Ohmygoodness ❣️ I love how you revamped your closet! I've literally been thinking of doing something better with the closet in my craft room!! I removed the doors years ago and just hung a shower curtain that is NEVER closed! 😉🙄 So seeing your space totally has my mind full of ideas👍👍👍🌞 Thank you Tayler 😊

Thank you so much! It's interesting because before our home was remodeled (prior to us buying it), this room was actually the den. When they remodeled everything, they added a wall and door, filled in an overhead passthrough, and added a closet to make an additional room. That's why this room has that unusually large window (THAT I LVOE). It's genius!
