I love your poscasts/episodes. It is always a treat to relax and knit while watching. So many goodies...the driving footage, taking us along to the store, showing signs and giving us time to read and learn. So thankful for this treat. I too should make a water bottle cover...used one since a kid for keeping warm, as an adult (cramping relief...learned that one from my grandma!) Happy knitting and stay warm. Thank you kindly for sharing your bit of the knit-universe. 😊

I love all your fuzzy socks, scrappy blanket, half and half and the lovely hot water bottle covers- lots of inspiration there. Your minis from Amy might make a beautiful vest- no fear of running out of the yarn. That yarn shop and museum was so interesting. Have a great holiday season. You will be making many people happy with your gift knits. This year it has been mainly Newfoundland mittens and a few socks that are being gifted from me. I am off to California to spend Christmas with one of my daughters and her sweet little family (babes are 2 and 4 years old). I will be happy to leave frozen Canada behind, although the snowstorms over the past week have made it a winter wonderland.

Thank you for this wonderful latest episode! I love your "me" sweater! Thank you for sharing the process of free-styling a raglan. I'm excited to try that, since you made it sound so straightforward. Your cardigan is gorgeous, and your blanket is beautiful too. I have been using the Old Norwegian cast on since you mentioned it last time, and just recently tried the Icelandic cast off (I need practice with it. It seems wonderful, but it didn't come out so good on my cowl project, and I ended up having to rip and re-do). I wish you a lovely holiday season, and a happy new year too! ❤

We just received an uncommon snow overnight; 9"/ 22cm. ( Island in the Salish Sea, N49°, border of USACanada, west coast) Your lovely long relaxed sharing is perfect to listen to and see as I knit and sew. I am making a clear , fiber reinforced tarp door for my porch to keep snow off. You made the task so enjoyable for me as I handle stiff plastic long pieces sewing on bands and velcro. I am inspired by your knitting and sweet gentle nature. I am on the sleeves of a cardigan, raglan, lace pattern, in Drops alpaca silk with two strands Drops silk mohair in a blue green Sea color; a dreamy oversized soft cocoon. I want to make a cardigan like you are wearing next and also something with the Drops Alaska if I can find it at a good price... and the water bottle cover!!!! >>Yes!! I will make several!!! Thanks! Wishing you kindness filled Yule time.

You have inspired me to make my 2 daughters and I matching hot water bottle covers of soft very brightly dyed natural yarn mixed jwith angora ( I love rabbit or goat angora- started after I knitted myself a hat I wore during chemo-softest thing I ever knit Maybe hot pink or neon green or dayglo orange . I like you tend to go for earthy tones, juniper green, agate, cinnamon, pumpkin, stone, oatmeal, bing cherries. I always have4-8 WIPs going at once. You can appreciate the “complicated” , projects where you have pay close attention) alternating with the “easy” ones with big swathes of Stockinette- I call it my tv or ipad knitting, and of course when designing my own patterns I have to take notes to write pattern or record pattern details. I really like top down as I dislike sewing parts that I must block first. Oh thanks for the recommendation of Twizzter- my 7 yr younger sister Laura (of NY, near Rhinebeck) and I bought ourselves each one. She is an avid knitter who knits while walking. I use an electric wheelchair and will find a way to hang it. I used to fly a lot for work pre-retirement and more than a few times had balls of yarn go rogue under several rows while on planes( so embarassing)Thanks for the heads up. The lady that replied to my email is looking for usa/canadian retailers so i asked in my ChiaoGoo Divas facebook group (6.5k knitters) so perhaps we will find one or 2 for her. I wait patiently for my Twizzter. My younger sister coming here to snowbird in February will get hers from me. Thank you Inga. I was an icu/ccu RN, in later years worked in medical sales for Baxter the IV maker. Please join ChiaoGoo Divas facebook group-you might win something.

Your copenhagen cardigan looks very nice and soft ... Like I need one right now! It has been cold in NYC but nothing like -20 C, just around zero bit below or above, but we have not yet got any snow 😞. I have not knit with any mohair because I don't think it gets as that cold here like to need it. But I am in love with your Cardi. I think I will have to give in to the fluff yarn. The detailed description of your sweater procedure was so interesting to me. I have only made ganseys (fisherman style but longer and definitely freestyle with no pattern) because they are roomy and are a nice sweater from the rustic wool from my sheep. I have wanted to knit raglan but worry about whether I will end up with just the opposite problem which I often have (sweaters and tops that go way up in the front compared to the back or are so tight across the bust that it takes over the look of the sweater.....I am not a big person but suffer with a large bust....I am always suspicious when I see a pattern made by a nice flatter chested person as to whether or not they get how it can be) . When you described putting the extra stitches in the back, that might be my solution a bit....instead put them in the front. I do not slouch at all. Also, your English has improved to the point that you have a mostly undetectable accent. Pretty amazing. I was a speech therapist and am always tuned in to accents of any kind. I know more people here in northern MN that are US citizens of Norwegian heritage, who have much more of a brogue than you do and they were born here!

Thank you ! that is high praise as i have never lived in an english speaking country :D I think that putting more stitches to the fron would definetely be a modification that could help with a larger bust adjustment, let me know how it goes if you do :D

Hello Inga, I watched this episode in 2 pieces. I love your podcats a lot, especialy this one. Drops and Holst are my favorit yarns, due to their price and quality. In Holland they are easy to get for me, I'm chronicly ill due to neglected Lyme desease. I knit a lot with the Drops Alaska, I like it. But my "problem" with my knits is that in time they grow, what am I doing wrong. I seriously need help/advice, because I have still some 8 sweaters/cardigans to knit with it. Knitting keeps me relaxed, physical and mentally healthier. You help me by making these lovely, calming podcasts. Thank You, I wish You all best wishes for Your future. Bye Bye.

If its the alaska in particular that grows it might be because its so heavy gravity causes it to grow, not much to do about that, you could soak it and reblock the items back into shape and see if it helps

Love your videos, so glad to see your new acquisitions, do you shop in the U.S. at all? We have a hard time getting things from overseas, I was hoping you could tell me some of the shops you purchase from to get merino silk mohair? Also is the mohair itchy or does the silk calm that down, I totally agree about the silk and merino blends when spinning wool, less pulling but more substantial, love it all anyway! I've been thinking of making something in purple, blues, pinks and white silk, I am all about the eye candy and texture is everything, but its gotta be soft! It's been so fun watching, thank you for sharing!

I have only bought online from smaller makers from the us myself, alot of my loval yarn stores here sell silk mohair so i often get it that way, its very individual how people find silk mohair, i personally am not sensitive to mohair and find it softens up a garment alot🥰

How do you wash the socks when you used kid silk for them? I prefer superwash socks so that I can wash them low temperature in the washing machine, but adding kid silk sounds really nice.

I wash them in the machine on a wool program with wool soap or i can soak them with woolwash but im lazy and use the machine;)

Hiya, thx for a lovely year of knits. Quick question about half and half - how do you do the cast on edge - do you do a provisional cast on and do an Icord to finish it? Or just have a cast on edge, thx. Oh and the cast off too?

I have knit it single, it blooms alot with wash but even if you hold it double it should be light weight, if you hold it double you can do fewer stitches too
