How To Knit A Yarn Over and Yarn Over Needle
In this video I’ll be showing how to knit a yarn over (this is shortened to ‘yo’ in knitting patterns), which is where you don’t actually knit a stitch but create an extra stitch on the needle.
As a new knitter you could find yourself with holes you didn’t mean to create, we’ve all been there! But this technique and extra stitch forms a hole in your fabric on purpose, which can be used for many different reasons. The main reason is for increasing but also lace knitting, buttonholes, decorative stitches and creating eyelets.
