Gameplay walkthrough on how to beat Nier Automata on Very Hard mode difficulty. I take you through the game providing tips. Includes all three Routes of 2B, 9S and A2 and endings A, B, C, D and E. Partner is set permanently on passive. And I'll try to give a bit of a story summary, or interpretation of story elements.

Super late, but the machine rising from the volcano storybook is actually a reference to the event that gave the machines sentience as described in the short story 'the flame of prometheus' in the novel Short Story Long. The P-33 unit in question who transmitted the meaning of life to all the machines was a boss in the original Nier, and many of the more confusing elements of Automata are directly tied to that game and Drakengard, another one of Yoko Taro's games. Everything in Automata makes a lot more sense when looked at in the context of the rest of Taro's games.

Aah I see. That's very interesting. I'm not too familiar with the other games in the franchise. I did play drakengard 3 and a little bit of Nier, but I finished neither of them.

@@PressContinue really late to the party, but you'd probably love to do a NieR: Replicant v1.22 Hard mode run. Maybe even without any items used during battle to spice it up? The game's story is just phenomenal.

Hey I enjoy these vids and am trying to do a Very Hard playthrough also. I think (after having died like 30 times XD) that melee only is the way to go vs Adam. He does not fight back on level 3-5 because he is staggering (maybe its because of shock wave, but I didn't check.) And on level 5-7 its best to use shockwave at a mid-close distance to get him to put up the barrier, and if you keep melee-ing, he will hit back after 3-4 strikes, which is easy to dodge and you can counter. Then you just repeat and dodge whenever you need to on 7-10. Although you did beat it, so your way obviously works too. I was just letting you or anyone else considering a VH run what I did

Sounds like a good tactic. Thank you. The stategies in these videos obviously work, but I'm not claiming they are the best possible strategies. In fact, you'll find some tips from other viewers in the comment sections as well. Actually that's the beauty of having a comment section. People can add to the content in this guide that way.

I disagree with you on the part where you said that the androids are killing innocent machines. I think you contradicted yourself, since earlier you said that its basically two evils in the game which I do agree with but you sort of gave the wrong explanation. The machines trying to kill you are part of a network and they can't tell what exactly they are doing. Adam and Eve's mission was to destroy all androids and their emotions and thoughts were still linked in the network which in turn transferred those emotions to the rest of the machines. Keep in mind too that androids are outnumbered from machines almost 1000:1 and they have tons of factories throughout the world whereas androids are extremely expensive to make and in very limited quantities but its true that they are smarter than the machines due to YorHa allowing them to have a conscience. Also, the machines are the ones that started the war, not the androids. When the aliens arrived they are the ones trying to annihilate whatever other life was left on Earth (because remember, humanity by then was already extinct), flesh or steel. So innocent...I don't think I would use that word for the machines either lol mindless would be a better description.
@PressContinue
@PressContinue 6 жыл бұрын
Well, being linked to the machine network seems not be imply that machines dont have individuality. And it is a conclusion drawn relatively quickly in the story that the machines are conscious just like the androids are. There is also a sort of hierachy in the machine network and the top is represented by the red girls. After all, they have knowledge that any random machine around the world does not seem to have (pascal used to be part of the network and she didnt even know the aliens were wiped out by their own kind). So in essence what we have in very similar (and very likely that was intentional) to innocent and intentionally kept ignorant people fighting for the causes of the goverment. Or in this case, innocent and ignorant machine fighting for the red girls. So the evil vs evil is the highest Yohra command vs the red girls, using the ignorant android soldiers and the machines who are now the inhabitants of the earth as pawns in their war. And in case of Adam and Eve, they acted in response to the actions of 2B and 9S. That's even how they came into being.

Yes, machines are evolving to the point of having their own conscience. However, they can't create their own individuality much like androids. It has to be created. Pascal explains this to A2 when A2 was trying to understand why machines are like that. Memories can be stored, individuality also, but once those are destroyed they can't be brought back. However your explanation makes it seem like androids are more the bad guys which they really aren't. YorHa was created because of a past grudge when the machines started the war. The YorHa units are programmed to be prejudiced toward the machines, while at the same time giving them a conscience in order to reflect their human counterpart. They were meant to kill machines as a tool for revenge.

No I didnt say they were the bad guys in the sense of haha I'm so evil; I likend them to soldiers following orders wiping out entire villages, and a pysycological tool, they were told that the machines dont have feelings anyway. Like in real life war the enemy gets dehumanized

So you didn't use taunt just because it's overpowered? For me it's the only mode where it's viable, because you are always focused on not dying. But when you use it on lower dificulties, you will die in one hit just like very hard mode. Great guide thanks!

Oh no I didn’t miss that we was the bad guy in this story. But also just remember if these robots was still a part of the connection that is talked about then they must likely would be killing us innocent or not.

Top notch Sir,, much obliged,,, 👌👌 Is it possible to share your control scheme. Any hints for the camera or you use the default settings. I finished the game on normal mode, it really was easy, i sacrificed my save data, and now doing a complete run on hard just to adjust & develop new tactics, next will be very hard.

Excellent! Please allow me a little perspective on expressions, I mean no disrespect. In fact quite the opposite. Maybe refrain from using expressions like 'that was gay' or gayish? We need every level of well-being in our individual lives, and everybody want the same things in life: to live our lives to the fullest before we die. We wish for love and meaningful relationships. We hope to be able to be the very beings we were born into being. We need freedom. We thrive in freedom. I know many homosexual gamers, and when their sexuality is brought up in a demeaning way its always such a disappointment. They want to relax too. We all do. I don't give shit about polical correctness, fuck that BS, but I care very, very much about other human beings,their feelings. Their circumstances under which they - we - all live. It's all about love. It really is. It's got nothing to do with sexual orientation. That's just a little bit of fun to do while we're here striving to do better, to be kind. Accepting. Sincerely, Poul

Please allow me a little perspective on expressions, I mean no disrespect. We hope to be able to be the very beings we were born into being. Some of us are neurodiverse people. I know many neurodiverse players who are triggered by rudeness, such as obscene and/or sexualized language, and when it's being used, it's always such a disappointment. They want to relax too. We all do. I don't like political correctness too, but I care very, very much about other human beings,their feelings. Their circumstances under which they - we - all live. I implore you to be a little bit more considerate.
