Great video my ten year old and I just watched it and practiced tying it. Great demo. We did it around 2 fingers instead of the whole hand and it worked well like that too with the rope we had. Thanks.

Nice video. Quick tip on audio, I'd suggest looking into a de-click plugin like the one in RX Elements.

ONE of many "stopper knots"... I like the Figure 8, myself.

What are some uses for such a knot?

A stopper knot is tied at the end of a rope to prevent the rope from slipping through a belay device when climbing or from slipping through a small hole to help retain a rope like a recoil rope on a lawn mower. Just a few examples. Thanks for the question.

It’s also called a barrel knot A similar knot tied around the standing part is called a scaffold knot or fisherman’s knot

@mikekollross8810 Yes, you are correct. I may add that to the title since there are several different Stopper Knots. This is one of the most common ones used. Thanks for the comment.
