This intro and the Dallas intro were 2 of the best ever created for a television show.

Ahhh, Thursday nights in the 80s. Break out the air popcorn popper and settle back for some Knots.

Clearly the best night time soap. Donna Miles was brilliant as the most interesting character with great range. Constance McCashin was lovely as the foil to Mr. Devane. Still miss the show to this day. The writing and acting were sensational.

Ya know, it was something to look forward to. Every week on Thursday night 🌉 we had it for that hour and then it was over until the following week. Nowadays you can watch what ever you want when ever you want. No build up. No excitement. No talking about last 🌃 nights episode. It's too bad really. I just watch all the episodes on youtube. I miss the 80s. It is very depressing... Today's way of doing things. I miss the 80s.

Back when night time soaps made each episode an event and By far the best and longest version of the 14 seasons for Knots Landing. .. I remember how they really started the 1985-86 season with a Bang with this very lively opening theme!

Just listening and seeing that opening credits bring back fond memories as a teenager, my whole family was glued to Thursday Night's Knots Landing to me is the only prime soap that still holds up the Test of Time. Awesome Cast and Crew!

These were the days when opening credits and theme music were as important as the show itself. This is fantastic. Many of us looked forward to it as much as the show that followed. It was brilliant to juxtapose the characters of Abby and Valene deep in contemplation towards the end of the opening sequence. There was nothing "artsy" or abstract about opening credits such as this. Rather than cater to the status quo (politically correct horseshite), these scenes recreated real human events, albeit quite dramatized, as escapist entertainment should. I never enjoyed television shows after the 1980s, and miss those evenings in the parlor watching TV with my mother, brothers, and sisters, sitting on the carpeted floor around the sofa.

I just loved it... I think it was the peak years of Season 5-8, the glamour but realism of the cul-de-sac

The 85 - 86 season for all the primetime soaps had huge cast members and lengthly openings .. once they started their decline this season, each series started to cut down on their casts.. TV series no longer start their shows with great themes like this to intro the show and its stars.. I miss those days!
