Today in the store I saw practically the same Kobalt trimmer. And that trimmer had the same head design, but MIRRORED. It spins in the opposite direction compared to my video. Does anyone have that trimmer? Does it require similar steps to replace the line?

I have one that is the reverse of yours, but the winding mechanism and direction is the same.

So, I watched a similar video on this because I have a Cordless Kobalt trimmer. My spool housing had to be removed in order for me to turn the spool. I have to lift it up to turn it. If the spool housing is on, I cannot turn it. As long as I kept some tension on the line I was turning into the spool, it was fine. After I got about 10-12ft rolled into the spool, I just put the spool cover back on. The process worked like a charm and is so much cheaper than buying the new Kobalt Spool for the trimmer.

Exactly what I needed. I put new string on and it snapped off short inside of the head first time I used it. I only knew how to put more line on it but not how to take the head apart to get the string fed back out through the hole. If it does it again I'm going to buy different string. I tried the star shaped string that had good reviews for cutting the grass more cleanly than round string but if it is more brittle and brakes off inside the head it's not worth it. Thanks for the quick simple video without any BS.

Exactly what I need. I have to take out the knob and manually get the string through the “tunnel”, otherwise the string won’t wire around.

I have a Kobalt 80 v string trimmer model # KST 140XB-06/140XB, of course it does not match the trimmer you have in your video. I have tried to to restring it the way the the manual says to do it, plus it’s the way your video shows how to do it. I have tried to restring it a couple of times, but after I start using it and bump feed it it does not work. No feeding whatsoever. Any ideas on what to do?

hi I bought the same kobalt trimmer you saw in the store and i put new string in it this am, also as you I turned the knob in the direction of the arrows clockwise. the salesmen at the store told me counter clockwise he was wrong !

here I use 'UGLY LINE' 0.095 heavy duty tri-edged line. Good line

Your trimmer probably has a head that is mirrored from the one in my video. The arrow on the turning knob is directed clockwise. If you have it counterclockwise, then all rotations must be done in the opposite direction. Thank you!
