Two weeks after the NBA legend and his daughter tragically died in a helicopter crash alongside seven others, the pair have reportedly been laid to rest at a private Los Angeles funeral. To honor the mourning family, the late basketball's rep could not confirm the news to Access Hollywood. Though the reported funeral was private, a public memorial will be held for Kobe and Gianna on Monday, Feb. 24 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, giving fans an opportunity to pay their respects.

So true. She’s been with him since she was 17. Her oldest daughters age! He was larger than life. She will probably start being more involved in his projects and on continuing the things he and they were passionate about, and keeping his legacy alive. I really can’t imagine her remarrying, ever. Agreed! I think by releasing the public memorial date, it created a distraction for us and likely had the majority of people thinking that they are still making funeral arrangements whereas I am sure that Kobe likely already had some sort of "funeral" arrangements or even a will which likely made the logistics in that regard easy to navigate. The constant travelling as an athlete means you have to be prepared for anything. Physically we are leaving. But energetically, we vibe forever.

What about them ? If you had truly paid attention there have already been services for many of them. There is a memorial planned on the 24th of Feb for all of them at the staple center. If Kobe had not been killed with them their names would not have been public.

At least Vanessa and his daughters know how much Kobe and Gigi were loved by so many people, that does comfort your pain and your loss. I went to the Staples Center one week after on Superbowl Sunday and there was still so many people there mourning. Blacks, whites, Latinos, Asians...unbelievable. It still seems so surreal.

I work in the Los Angeles corners office where the victims were stored. Did not expect to see Kobe in this place, even though we see many famous people. FAM (Forever A Memory) Kobe !

It is hard to imagine that kobe and his lovey daughter are gone ,I feel very sad and at the same time I feel angry,why did this had to happen is this the way it was meant to be ,its a good thing that kobe did not take his wife and the rest of the family ......Our Thoughts and prayers goes out to Kobe 's family AND to the rest of the family whom lives were lost ..To All Rest In Peace.

I still can’t believe it... as a life long laker fan... Kobe felt like a member of my family a cousin I never met but knew every thing about... from the court to off the court..: he gave me inspiration to keep skateboarding or to keep pushing cause 24 did... when I hurt my self pick myself up and put my finger back in socket and keep playing.. Gigi was on her way of making history... Kobe thank you for the memories I share with my family bonding over your skills thank you Kobe... Us in LA feel like something is missing now your gone the streets aren’t the same basketball just isn’t the same miss you G god speed Gigi ball in peace angel... Us as a laker community and fans will look out for Vanessa and the girls.. thank you for the memories
