2009 Western Conference Semifinals Game 3, May 8, 2009 | The small rivalry between the Lakers and Rockets began to intensify following a very physical game 2 that featured two ejections and five technical fouls. Both teams entered game 3 in Houston looking to take a 2-1 lead in the series, and the physicality continued. The leading scorer for the Rockets was Ron Artest who scored 25 points and pulled down 6 rebounds after being ejected in game 2. Kobe followed up a stellar game 2 with 33 more points in game 3 to go along with 6 boards, 2 steals and 3 blocks. The Lakers led nearly the whole way through and pulled away in the 4th to win 108-94 in the Toyota Center, taking the 2-1 series lead.

Yep. Although he played his role well with the Lakers, they should've allowed him to do more. He seemed disinterested at times. He was clutch in game 7 of the finals when Kobe had a horrible game.

@ᔕ O ᒪO ᗰ O ᑎ E what's clear is that you don't know basketball too much and just jock ride Lebron... He has very limited footwork, has a limited post game, and most of his points came within 5 ft of the rim. Which means he attacks the basket for most of his points. Watching him lower his shoulder and just bully his way to the rim isn't skill. He just starting shooting jumpers in the last 3 years or so. And for you to deny that shows that you're just a serious Lebron Stan.

MJ was a better overall player than Kobe by just a little, but the play at 5:04 is why some argue Kobe. Kobe could make that shot fairly consistently, MJ probably wouldn't even try it unless it was for a game winner

Arturo Luna i love kobe hes easily jordan reincarnated but yes MJ was slightly better has much bigger hands and better ball fakes ans MJ was a little stronger and tougher.. but i will say this jordan never had to guard anyone like kobe in the 90s .. both once in a lifetime players and scorers it was fun to watch even tho i hated both

Joshua Haynes Jordan was stronger and had bigger hands but tougher not so much i'm mean Kobe played through so many injuries and i mean man come on shooting 2 free throws after tarring his Achilles and walking off the court like a mans man i don't even know if Jordan himself would of done that.

Joshua Haynes Jordan was slightly better but only because God gifted him with a bigger and more athletic body than Kobe but Kobe's work ethic was slightly better than Jordan's while Jordan was playing golf and gambling after winning a championship Kobe was at the gym busting his ass 1 week in a half or 2 weeks after winning championship trying to get even better than he already was.

Lol mj was WAY better. Just because Kobe makes tough shots doesn't change that. Jamal Crawford has made tough shots his whole life is he now on Kobe's level?

for me this was Kobe at his peak, his last truly great year, he got it done in 2010 but it was the beginning of old man game. the year he got hurt the first time, he was really reinventing himself, evolving... too bad he got hurt

Kobe was guarded by a prime Battier, prime Artest, prime Tony Allen, prime Bruce Bowen, and among other good defenders during that early and late 2000s, not every superstar have that luxury, which means Kobe is just that good .. #goat
