I still fondly remember that the Corridor Creeper was a 5/5 cost 0. It is both amazement for the user and horror for the opponent. Old times

An interesting rule you could add to keep things somewhat even is the loser gets to ban one deck you played in the last set. It would also force you guys to keep mixing things up as well

The C’thun interaction is one of those things of hearthstone that will always amaze me. You would think it works one way, but coded entirely different.

@@revlismorningstar825 each player has their own counter for C'thun, I assume because the game stores the data for each specific player. (for instance: uses of hero power for cards like those mage legendaries)

I think one way you could potentially even out the winner snowball while still providing an incentive would be that you get a bonus pack for each game you won. That way the winner would still open 3 packs, but the loser could get 1-2 extra packs.

my idea would be to have the weeks loser open 3 (or alternatively "5 minus his wins" for more rubberbanding) packs of the current week. This way both players should go into the next week with less of a power discrepancy but there is still a benefit to winning as they still start next week with a small advantage by having 3 more packs of the next week, however if they continue to win this advantage gets (partially) of set at the end of the week (hopefully preventing snowballing).

Eh at this point the advantage is minimal. In the beginning it constituted most of their decks so the advantage was so high. Now there are so many cards in play it's not as big.

It USED TO work as you though it works (if you mind controll he keeps buffs, if you put him to your hand he loses buffs and gets yours). I remember both winning and losing games cuz of that in every possible way cuz I was big time c'thun warrior/c'thun priest main back in the day, so it happend A LOT. Somewhere along the way they spaghetti coded it into what happend now.

Cthun is hardcoded into the game as a separate counter, if anything the spaghetti code was the first iteration, if you take control of an opponent's cthun it should match the stats of your own, which in this case was just the baseline 6/6

I think you did a great job with the video time so you cant really tell who will win after the first few games. Maybe just have a couple exhibition matches or something if there is a sweep, that way people cant tell

22:00 I also tried to put them in order. Ashes of Outland was the hardest for me. I knew that it came after the EVIL vs LoE conclusion Descent of Dragons, and before Scholomance and Darkmoon. I had to think back to the Trial be Felfire trailer to remember what it was.

so the reason people are against giving the winner extra packs is that it widens the gap between card pools which is a problem with the rng nature of progression series as a whole by giving a card pool advantage to the winner they're likely to keep winning where as most give extra packs to losers as a catch up mechanic

C'thun grows based on the devotion of his followers. If a very uninvested follower tries to command him, he gives them a weaker favor. His stats directly reflect the devotion of the player

38:00 Funnily enough, with the house rules you guys are playing with, Discover is actually **worse** than "get a random card". Discover doesn't get the advantage of choice like usual most of the time, and is more likely to hit an earlier expansion (that you have to take) than a "get a random card". Whereas "get a random card" can actually break the rules and get you stronger later expansion cards. Just something to consider for deckbuilding lol

A suggestion could be that if you pack a legendary class card you have to play with that class no matter what you packed. For example Ecore did the right thing by playing warrior after getting the legendary weapon

I think the best deck we've seen this entire series is Ecore's Paladin deck, and I'm very sad we dont get to see it more often, its basically free win. He brought it one week after heavily underestimating it, and he immediately won a game without even showing off his legendary, which is probably the single best legendary anyone's opened this entire series.

I feel like the discover limitations makes discover really suck. Cause there’s a good chance to get cards you can’t pick and be forced to take a bad card. I personally think just letting it go makes things interesting

The problem with that is then it’s just better to fill your deck with discover effects, so as to discover as many newer cards as possible since they’re generally better
