I'm 35 & black myself, I got into metal when I was 6 years old first song to rock my world was Anthrax's Belly of the Beast; and the thing I have always loved about rock/metal is skin tone doesn't exist. Just the music we listen to and our fellow metalheads. For we always been the underdogs but aren't afraid to stand together.

One of the most underrated bands ever. A lot of people don't even know who these guys are...man are they missing out.

Scream or Clean - I can't get enough of Alexis' voice!

She actually performs the softer songs WAY harder live! She is absolutely amazing live! And Alexis is soooo incredibly sweet! She hangs out with the crowd and in the merch booth during the opening acts.

Alexis is one of my top favorite female vocalists on metal music.

She’s absolutely gorgeous, and the band kicks, she is by far the best female vocalist/ singer , and there are some fantastic female vocalist’s lately, but none even close to her strength and melodic textures

This song randomly popped up on my playlist after not hearing it for nearly 10 years and I've forgotten how amazing her voice is, so unique and dynamic with that raspiness just adding so much to it. This is going to be on loop for the next couple days.

I was surfing on myspace one day a few years ago and came across this band. I fell in love with them instantly. Watching them evolve over the past couple years has been quite a treat. If any of you ever get a chance to see them live I highly recommend it. They usually open for other bands so make sure to be there early and not just for the headliner.

I love that they played for my Middle School before they were famous and I STILL have the shirt they all signed for me. (: I'm so proud that they went from playing for middle school kids to having their own music videos and making it big time.

Had the pleasure to meet the whole band in 2010 in Cleveland, the one guitar player wasn't there because his mother had passed. But the whole band were so nice and down to earth.got to hug Alexis, actually sat down and talked with the band.much respect. If anyone deserves it,its them

She is amazing! I'm so happy that I found this band! Everything about Straight Line Stitches is awesome! And, not trying to start crap, but rarely do you see a metal band with a black vocalist, let alone a black female vocalist. Just pointing it out. It's awesome to see a little more diversity. :D

Alexis is such a sweet and down to earth person! I met her and the band at Mayhem and they were the only band I had a genuine conversation with. "Black" does not describe Alexis, as she does not conform to any racial stereotype. She is just another frontwoman to any amazing band! I can't believe that people these days have the balls to be racist! Our differences are what makes us, as the human race, beautiful and unique.

Maybe pop hard rock (from a female singer, it would usually have lyrics like this anyway), but definitely not that pop shit you think it is. 2) Metal bands been doing softer songs every now and then, since Sabbath and Kizz. I only been deeper into metal for about 6-7 years (into rock since I was 13 though, 27 now), and even I know this. C'mon, people.
