A trip to fly fish for Kings and Sockeye on the south end of Kodiak Island. Could be the most beautiful place on earth. @thebackveld

I worked at wilderness lodges on Kodiak, lived over much of coastal Alaska the past forty three years, seen incredible places,sights here in Alaska, yet Kodiak still stands apart! The rock! Emerald island! A world apart! No place even compares. Simple!😉👍

I know that pistol and the guy carrying it. Fished this camp now for 22 years. No place like it.

looking to use baitcasting setup for silvers next month.. what weight rod/line would u recommend? thanks
@troyottosen87224 жыл бұрын
Nunya, I live here in coastal Alaska lived and fished Kodiak for silvers, you said baitcasting, you use of lures or roe? Either way, at least 8 1/2- 9 1/2 length, anywhere from 12-18 lb line, “just have your drag set smooth”!👍these silvers are fresh from the ocean and strong as hell! By the way, depending on where in Kodiak your going. This island has the largest silvers on average anywhere in the world! Bring extra shorts! Oh that’s not just from the silvers, big brows you will be fishing with, especially if your going off the road system! Only one.

NUNYA , Only lire you will need is a blue fox”vibrax “ lure size 5 or 6, orange, green, pink color, Crome blade! You fishing the rivers on Kodiak road, or floatplane in?
@nunya37904 жыл бұрын
@@troyottosen8722 rivers with a group that makes this yearly. vibrax has been mentioned i will get one of each.. leader? any help is HELP...
@troyottosen87224 жыл бұрын
NUNYA , No leader needed, just a swivel, only downside about the vibrax lure is the shaft bends easy, the silvers hit so hard, so remember you have to keep straightening the shaft or it doesn’t spin right. You didn’t say if your fishing the road streams or floatplane drop off?
