This is an old interview from 2002, recorded live on Skyy Power FM in Takoradi, Ghana. Charles Kofi Wayo, the unstoppable politician who says what he thinks, speaks to News Editor Phillip Nyakpo. The date was 16th February 2002, during the first administration of President John Kufour - and only two years after Jerry John Rawlings stepped down as Ghana's Head of State, having ruled for nearly two decades.

Oh my God, whenever I listen to this great man Kofi Wayo I wipe with tears. This man is very intelligent that Ghanaians need him to help build our great nation Ghana, but I really can't tell what's going on with our so call President and the ministers. Why can't we used this great man Kofi Wayo because if you're educated you'll understand exactly everything is talking about. I've been is States for 8 years and I understand whatever Great Kofi is talking about!

Great to hear from you Phillip Nyakpo, I'm still here in States and coming home for the first time in next year if God willing because my job did not allow my vacation which plans have been shifted till next year. Actually I listening to the interview you did with Kofi Wayo very offen wherever I'm at both home or at work place. And I really don't know how to go about it, like this great and very intelligent man like Mr. Kofi Wayo should be used for the groove of the country, but it's seems no one is listening to him and this great man is making a lot of sense that they need to be looking at. I'm telling you he's better than about 95% of so call minister's we have in Ghana that they don't do nothing than to steal the nation's money

This interview with all the insights and opinions expressed by Kofi Wayo has its relevance today. You see, this guy has the mindset (when placed in leadership) to turn the fortunes of Ghana around unfortunately, many people do not take him seriously.
