I miss fossil fighters hopefully we can get some more maybe a switch release. I’ve actually never played champions just the og and frontier. These dragomonz look super neat may pick some up for me and my nephew to try. And my niece loves the blind box stuff so maybe she’ll join in!.

The boy/girl counterparts was why I always loved Spinmaster as a kid. It’s nice to see an alternate take on an idea, like the American Godzilla film. Even if it isn’t good chances are you get something neat out of it.

From what I know, the cartoon (which consists of just 3-minute long episodes) is being released in phases. First phase is on Amazon Prime, because Spin Master can make money off of there. Eventually, it should be on KZfaq officially. I believe they'll do the same thing with another anime they're making called Zo Zo Zombie. Super Dinosaur is a full length TV show, so I'm not sure how that'll be handled.

Yk what would be great? A toy/cardgame hybrid with some very simple worker placement or movement/spatial mechanic. Even something as simple as moving between a front row and a back row-some action you associate with miniatures that are more satisfying/less fiddly than cards (without straight-up becoming a miniatures game).

They probably should have gone the cardfight vanguard route with the tv show and put it on KZfaq or crunchyroll for free. That way the animation pays for itself and you get more people to watch and buy product.

Interesting to see this, since I am also making a card game with figures... There are no blind packages planned for my line tho, so you can just buy the creature you want and leave the rest as is. Don't know if that is smart, but I just dislike lootboxes a lot. It might change in the future tho

Dude. Here's a house rule for you. When You attack with a Dragamon, move the attacking Dragamon figure onto the target Dragamon card. It's not much, but at least it's another way to impliment the physical toy (sort of like how you cover defeated Dragamonz with their eggshell). If it works it works. And to be fair this IS for much younger kids than Bakugan.

Hey Kohdok, do you know if when you draw 3 cards, and you put the other 2 at the bottom of your battle deck you get to choose the order they go in?

I got some for my daughters because they are the same size as the Hatchimal Surprise. Thanks for the rules overview. Ironically, Hatchimals could def get a game version going. Sure they have playsets.. but my kids just use all size toys for that scale

I prefer how this is handled over Bakugan. It's much more appealing. I like the randomised toys + randomised cards. Have you noticed the short+tracked printing issue Bakugan has?

Dragamonz cartoon may look show like My Little Pony G4 and Skylander Academy but the attack, actions and ability looks better executed and interesting own concept scenes than map g4 and Skylander Academy. Especially Skylander Spyro and Cynder Stories.

The Hatchimals mini-figures are not called Surprise - they’re called CollEGGtables! Surprise is the second generation of the big ones, which has twins instead of one animal. I seriously wish they had made a big!Hatchimals style Dragamonz at all…the Toothless Hatchimal doesn’t really count. Thank you for your overview!

You know, my only problem with things like this is lack of possibility which I find absolutely necessary in figures. Bakugan at least had some movement, all be it in order for them to transform. Which reminds me, does anyone remember the name of the dinosaur and dragon toys that came in small eggs and you could mix and match their body parts? THAT, was a good toy!

That Toy franchise is better than Dragon type Pokemon designed?

Well, I personally think the idea of not integrating the toys to the card game is a good choice. I mean, I come from the future of this video and in the future you stated that needing more than dice and cards in a game is a sin. Supposing this game actually became "adult friendly" or "competitive", you wouldn't need to carry toys around to play. Just the stack of cards and the toys could be nice for a kitchen table game where "cards come to life".

If they were less cute/chibi, they'd be great for d&d

I'm confused by the egg breaking gimmick. A lot of hardcore collectors like to keep things in the original box. You know, "mint". But with these, it's impossible. You cannot know which figurerine you got unless you smash the egg, meaning that you cannot have a complete collection of un-opened dragomonz. I mean, I doubt this will become one of those "the rarest piece goes for 5k USD" collections... but it feels badly designed in that sense.

Seeing Dragamonz being compared to Fossil Fighters is painful. Dragamonz have fun, attractive designs, Fossil Fighters on the other hand is hideously ugly and garish to look at.
