The deep violet and green shadows really made this page sing. Thanks for sharing from go to whoa, it makes a huge difference to those of us who are novices to see it all.

Thanks Sharon, sometimes it’s the small, insignificant things that become “aha” moments 😉

It was interesting to see the three different stages of the page. That was very helpful. It turned out awesome!❤

Glad you liked it!! I thought it might be interesting to see how pencil could change the look - it all depends on the illustration style and you can create some very different results depending on the mediums you choose.

Jackie, I call your channel "The Coloring Channel for the Rest of Us!" 😉 Since I've started watching you, I've been ermine that I got into coloring for fun, not perfection. I've also been freed from my fear of "making mistakes" and "ruining" my coloring books. Good grief! They're Coloring books, for crying out loud! I've started to try mediums that I'm totally unfamiliar with, and doing it directly in my "good" books. I've had one or two disasters, but I've learned from each one, and had a ball doing it! Also, I really appreciate that you remind us that the best art supplies are the ones that we already own... Thanks again for all your hard work, and for being the "friend who I color with." ❤

That’s great news Brenda! Repetition and practise….that’s what’s needed to feel comfortable ❤️ I hope it isn’t too long before the book is available to you 🤞

Wonderful watching you colour as always and how the pencil and Gelly rolls add the finishing touches. So excited for you getting the “big box”🎉🎉 I hope they’re all of good quality. The box I ordered in January was up to scratch so 🤞🤞🤞

I’ve loved watching your videos! I prefer basing with a watercolor medium. I haven’t mastered markers straight in the books, so thinking this may be a good way for me to use my water based markers. After watching your videos I tried using my crayola super tips today. I have a matchstick mouse book I use for experimenting in. I know you have to be careful with Amazon paper and not use as much water. I didn’t think I was, but it didn’t take it very well. I’m going to let it dry over night before I put pencil over & see if I can salvage it. Are the RJ Hampson books on a better paper? I know I’ve heard some Amazon paper is better than others depending on where it’s printed. You make it look so easy 😊. Thank you for sharing your tips, hope you are feeling better.

Thank you, yes, I made a rapid recovery 👍 There’s a bit of a learning curve with waterbased markers and water, and it all comes down to the paper as to the results you get. I’m lazy and don’t want to bother with any preparation, so the Koi colouring brush pens are really easy and provide a nice result. The Australian Amazon printed books are on different paper to most other countries and seems to cope with some rougher handling - and I tolerate more damage to my books than many people want to put up with too. I hope you have fun experimenting 😊

Watched all four and greatly enjoyed. I have this book on it's way to me (is it just me or does Amazon take forever to ship these days?), I really like the redrawn pages compared to the original. I don't think I can pull off watercolor on my US paper after a couple of tests in other books.. but I may pick up one of his PDF packs and try printing it out on watercolor paper. I have a printer with pigment based ink that will take up to 140 lb. I found he has a couple of packs that have pages never released in books which is rather exciting.

Things do seem to be slower than they used to be. The PDFs are a great idea if you have a good printer. Enjoy the book when it arrives ❤️
