"A New Picture" (Lyrics & Music by Li-sa-X)
Once the words are uttered, they cannot be undone
(So we choose our words carefully)
Once the notes are played, they never come back
(That’s why we practice so carefully)
We all make mistakes
There is no such thing as perfection
But we won't stop talking
We won't stop playing
What was right yesterday is not necessarily right today
I may be ashamed tomorrow of what I told you today
But we won't stop walking
We won't stop loving
Once a picture is done, it should never be altered
(Then it can't be completed forever)
Let's paint a new picture
Where I am today will become a trail tomorrow

Wakazaemon is such a fine bassist. She supported Koiai here, their first live show in Japan, less than a week after playing in East of Eden's first ever live show. Li-sa-X was a support player at the Naon no Yaon fest last month and she was impressive as always. She and Hazuki (with Nemophila at NnY) were having a great time. They might be better buddies than Saki and Hazuki were.

Hi Otoboke! That's a tricky supposition! Since at least 2017, both Hazuki and Saki have mentored Lisa. I think considering the current situation, Saki is closer to Lisa and Hazuki is closer to Lisa! I really don't know enough about the personal relationships between Saki and Hazuki. When I was in Webster, Texas, I got the idea that Tamu, Hazuki, and Hara-chan were were pretty close. Lisa uploaded an hour+ long clip of their India Tour. It's clearly evident that Lisa, Hazuki and Kotono are pretty close! I'd like to see both Nemophila and Koiai in the US. I'll bet if they rented a big house in the Texas Hill Country, they could get Marty Friedman to show up with his family; and then they'd have an in-house translator! Have a great one, Otoboke! Best Wishes! Russ

I replied to you Russ but didn't go thru so will reply to myself. (y t is weird sometimes.) I like Saki as a guitarst, have seen her play live any number of times (for that matter I live in the same suburb of Tokyo as her), but she is quite high-strung and I think not the easiest person to get along with. That said, she did socialize with Hazuki: for instance the day Koiai returned to Japan from India, Saki took Hazuki to see the retirement match of her favorite pro wrestler. Hazuki is extremely low-key and mellow, and I think a good influence on high-strung types like Saki and nerdy types as Lisa was. At Naon no Yaon I was impressed by how much Lisa has matured as a person and guitarist compared to when she previously played NnY. One person who has his musician's eye on her is Takayoshi Ohmura of Babymetak's Kami Band. He was at this live performance of Koiai, and Lisa subsequently played with the Ohmura Band.

@@otobokegaijin6218 Hi Otoboke! I've had comments disappear, usually when I document sources. The more I hear about Hazuki, the more I like her! In Webster, Texas, she was doing a real good job working the crowd. She talked with members of the audience, and handed out guitar picks. Lisa has shown up at NAAM several times and performed there. I wish she would have a real tour in the US. I think Lisa's maturity has a lot to do with time, personal experiences, and the wonderful people who have mentored her. I've thought of some strategies that might benefit all of these Japanese and other Asian bands, but its hard to communicate them with others, due to algorithm constraints.

A fearless attitude blended with extreme talent and a wide-open imagination. All done with that confident but unassuming approach that I love about the best Japanese musicians. Really incredible, they are just going for it here.

Mr B, Japanese Rock/Metal still continues to produce an excellence far beyond what we've come to expect in the west. My dream is still to see Hazuki & Kanami jamming live together on stage one day cos you can guarantee it'll be an amazing performance with big smiles all round.😁

"The West" has already been here and done that. Japan is keeping it alive for a new generation. This particular song reminds me of the stuff CYNIC and AGHORA did years ago. I have all that stuff in my CD collection. Cynic "Focus" is a killer album. The first Aghora album is also amazing. Danishta Rivero on vocals. The thing about Cynic and Aghora is the nasty bass and drumming. Sick riffing on those albums. Essential prog-metal.

Miyako will be using a Boss GT-1000 on the upcoming LOVEBITES tour. Consistency, and simplicity.
@guitarzen5999
@guitarzen5999 Ай бұрын
@TheCyberMantis Yeah I saw that. I used to own one and absolutely hated it. Ended up selling it and bought a Kemper. I don't understand why Miyako is using one, there are much better options available. Also, Fami just got an endorsement deal with Neural Dsp (Quad Cortex) so she will be in the amp modeling/profiling realm as well.
@TheCyberMantis
@TheCyberMantis Ай бұрын
@@guitarzen5999 She will need more than one for the tour. Maybe she is getting them for free. Maybe people on the Lovebites crew know how to quickly program it. Yeah, she could use a Fractal FM9, but who knows how to program it? And she would need more than one. Must have backups. Not sure why you didn't like it. Nita Strauss also used the GT-1000 on tour. Miyako could use a QC, but again, does anyone know how to program it? Miyako could use a Kemper, and then her guitar will sound exactly like Midori's. Lot's of options, but which one is the best choice. If it does what she needs it to do, then it's the right choice.
@guitarzen5999
@guitarzen5999 Ай бұрын
@TheCyberMantis Miyako is picky about her tone, so she must have heard something in this unit that she liked. Of course she's getting these free, she already has a relationship with Roland (Stage Piano, keyboards and keytar). The unit didn't work for me because the amp tones that Boss puts in the units are the proprietary amp tones of Roland products, which means if I want a Marshall JCM800 tone I can kind of get in the ballpark but nowhere near a Kemper. Other than Nita, I only know of a few pro's that use them, they are a bit outdated when compared to the other brands (Lack of updates to the software has put them behind as well). As far as Miyako using a Kemper and sounding like Midori, the Kemper has hundreds of patches for different amps and don't forget Midori was using a Peavey 6505 patch to try to sound like Miyako's rig there for awhile.
