still crossing my fingers for some related to the Roman Empire in the future. My personal favorite way to do it is as a custom ruler who is secretly descended from the Romans and still worships the old gods. I definitely play it OP because I use the Blood of the Norse Gods mod, but my head canon is that he has the blood of the greek gods.

I've a new challenge for you and maybe impossible to pull off. In the start of CK3 you'll find Dutch culture in the duchy of Holland and such, bu there's a hidden culture 'Frisian'. Historically the Frisians were more present in that area compared to 'Dutch' people, tho it's culture was rising and blended from Frisian and more cultures into Dutch. CK3 does have Frisian culture but I haven't found any character or events and such, so I was wondering if you could pull off to create at least one duchy fully into Frisian and play a character of it's culture.

Amusingly enough, in some official medieval Norman histories (that were definitely biased, not to written many generations later), Haesteinn was portrayed as the immoral, "bad" Viking compared to the moral, Christian, "good" Viking Rollo aka the ancestor of the House of Normandy.

I have a game going on like this kind of; I formed the Danelaw with Haesteinn after invading southeastern England and then was able to get West Francia in a kingdom war, allowing me to become Norman (though my direct lands are in England, the game still let me do it). I haven't gone English yet and am still early on into the game.

It honestly blows my mind how much you've gotten out of vanilla CK3. DLCs help, yes, but I'm surprised you haven't done conversion mods! I mean, I suppose you did do the Game of Thrones mod with Laith, but that's the only time I can recall that you've had any significant gameplay mods installed.

Be friends with your spymaster, pay attention to his characteristics, keep your grandour high, keep your marshal in managing royal guards, the spymaster in dismantling schemes, hold great fests, and big weddings to keep your vassals happy, there is a perk of schemer tree "court of shadows" helps too, keep your dread high, put bodyguards, food testers. All of this helps to avoid being murdered, the lower your rank, the less will need to be done and the higher your rank, the more will need to be done, but it will not be necessary to do all of this

thanks for the various responses :) To be more precise, it generally happens to me after I conquer Sardaigna ... though ... now that I think about I don't always do varangian adventure to conquer the island. Sometimes I do though and still get murdered relatively soon after the conquest.

I'm actually trying to do this achievement in CK2 currently . It's start off norse, move to france, become norman , conquer england , become english. Uuuf. Probably gonna take a while. There's no change culture option (i think) so its event based .

There is but only if you are a vassal of someone with the culture needed. Otherwise try to find a character with the right culture and have him educate your heir...i think that it.

Why would you put our boy haestin through this oh also I just finished my first ck3 part of my mega campaign and the only reason I was able to succeed reforming the Roman Empire was because I married into an alliance with haestin, his blood runs in the Roman emperor
