One of the best informative Kokanee fishing videos on the Internet! I love the “Fish on!” at the end 🤣. Chartreuse, Pink, and Orange are certainly my go to colors for Kings. Thus, by habit, I’m using these three colors for Kokanee…. 👍👍👍

I fish Stampede Reservoir this time of year. Nice calm waters. The only change I make is adding tuna in oil to my corn the night before. Seem to get twice as many hits. I’m going to try flashers on my downrigger balls. Thanks for the video! Nice to see a local making vids!

Great video JD, but where was this video 15 years ago when I first got into Kokanee fishing. I have in the neighborhood of 300 different lures and 60 or so different dodgers/flashers. I now use 2 different dodgers,1 flasher and about 5 different lures. After literally spending over a grand on lures, what I use now cost less than $100. Like the old saying goes, lure manufacturers make lures to catch fishermen, not fish. 😂

Great video JD! Very informative! My only critique would be to use less music or turn it down a bit to where it's not fighting with the monologue. Usually in informative videos, save the music for opens, transitions or action sequences and leave it dry for the explanations. I'm glad you've got those new fisheries you have dialed in! No more depending on up and down salmon and striper seasons. Are you doing Togiak coho this year?

What advice could you give me to make shift my own downrig, or to get it to the correct depths without a downrig?

Well you could go with lead core line. Or buy one of those clamp on mini Downriggers. They around $50 (or at least use to be 🤪)

The BGM was distracting. Lower the volume a tiny bit more or lose it altogether. Good video though.
