Still watching this lift in awe, after 10 years. It's so fascinating that he maintained the weightlifting style of clean pulls/deadlifts at this weight, such beautiful technique. Stiff bar + conventional + raw without straps... One of the most impressive deadlifts in history IMO.

That man is strong as an ox. I remember seeing him when he first started strongman stuff and his was huge and strong then......now he's just wild and unbelievable. AWESOME!!!!

That is an understatement, more like Best Strength Athlete ever. He used to do Olympic lifting, Powerlifitng, and Strongman at the same time. Last time I checked I couldn't find a second person in the world who does all 3 of these.

It's so interesting watching Misha deadlift, he actually gets down into a snatch starting position before standing up. Looks like he had more there too, coulda maybe got 420-425 that day...

Awesome! Interesting also to watch him pull using overhand/underhand grip and of course not wearing weightlifting shoes! I think that's the first time i watch him pull like this.

Doesn't make huge difference with IPF barbell but real IPF discs are closer to center than pumpers.

That does reduce the effect of weight further out as the middle of the bar is lifted off the ground, but IPF bar is a stiff bar. Most other 900lb+ deadlifts that have been made in recent years were on deadlift pars that have a lot more whip.

I doubt he intentionally chose the grip that would be harder for him. I bet he had problems with hook grip when lifting those heavier weights and decided to it mixed.

if you can hook it properly, and your hands are average size or above, it puts you in a much more advantageous pulling position in terms of your back symmetry and tightness as well as it lengthens your arms by about an inch. All in all its harder to do hook with heavy weight right but if you can it will be better and easier

very impressive especially conventional. unlike a squat and a bench press, there isn't much equipment that can help the deadlift, it's the true test of strength. since the invention of all the crazy equipment, lifters have increase their squats by 2, 3 even 400 pounds and put as much as 250 lb on their bench. but their deadlift Remains the Same.

scarred10 stiff bar and no straps with some reserve left in rhr tank. Believe me he is up there with the best deadlifters in the world.
