On 22nd December 2021 at 6:20 am we started from Kolkata and reached Varanasi at around 6:55 pm covering a distance of around 680 km. in bike with pillion. Actually, it was the 1st day of our West Rajasthan bike trip. It was our long cherished dream to explore Rajasthan in our own bike, but this trip was planned in last 2 days. The plan was to reach Varanasi in Day 1, Agra in Day 2 and Jaipur in Day 3. Although never rode more than 630 km in a day before, we had the confidence because we travelled up to Dobhi (near Bodhgaya) before. We are not ‘night riders’ and rather love to enjoy the beauty of the road in day light. So we started after sunrise and tried to cover as much distance as possible before it gets dark. We stopped several times beside the road, but to save time carried some food and did not give long breaks for lunch or breakfast. It was a straight journey following NH 2 (New Delhi Road) and touching four states - West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. We cross passed the major cities like Burdwan, Durgapur, Asansol in W.B.; Dhanbad, Topchanchi, Barhi, Chouparan in Jharkhand; Dobhi, Aurangabad, Dehri-on-Son, Sasaram in Bihar; Chandauli, Mughalsarai in U.P. to reach Varanasi. It got dark when we were getting close to the border of Bihar and U.P. Since our primary target was to visit Rajasthan and up & down to Rajasthan from Kolkata takes minimum 5-6 days, we could not afford the luxury of exploring Varanasi this time. May be some other time! The very next morning we started for Agra. That will be our next video. So keep watching our channel “Sudurer Piyasi” for the upcoming episodes.
