I liked the way it was done, once we reached the conclusion that is. The Uchiha and their Sharingan were extremely powerful, but almost every single one of them was killed, so the broken abilities are extremely rare in the manga as a result. The broken/forbidden/plot armor-esque abilities all being named after ancient Japanese gods was a nice touch, imo. Izanagi and Izanami being a pair, and only seeing the former from the Uchiha consumed by their Curse of Hatred, and the latter by Itachi, the prime example of an Uchiha who conquered the Curse of Hatred with the Will of Fire, I thought that was very poetic. And the abilities do have their drawbacks. Permanently losing the eye is a massive downside to izanagi and izanami. Madara only regained the eye from awakening the first Rinnegan in 1000 years.

It's not plot armor. It's called the entire Uchiha bloodline had to wiped out due to radical fear of their unique powers. If the Sharingan didn't possess amazing powers like this, why would the clan be feared enough to massacre them? Most people don't realize that even after the clan began to host meets of revolting against the Leaf and spying on them. Itachi never intended to murder the entire clan. He might've been a kid but he was still a captain of the anbu black ops with the awareness that Shisui's and his power would always ensure peace among the village. They'd likely grow up and turn out to be the most powerful Uchihas who ever lived, maybe even Hokage. Then Shisui lost his eye and died. Itachi was alone and his father (Fugaku) finally revealed he possessed the mangekyo and had plans to use it to control the nine tails and reign war on the leaf. If Shisui remains alive, they easily overpower Fugaku and stop the revolt with some combination of their genjutsu powers, etc. and the Uchiha Clan lives but since he's dead and Itachi knows "Madara" won't help him save the village as the heroic option because he resents the clan, he sees no choice but massacre them because as you can see now it truly was the only option other than war.

With the exceptions of 8 gates Gai, she has to be the most powerful character that wasn't born/gifted broken abilities like special eyes or tailed beasts. She invented her paper style, herself, out of a love for Origami and had Batman levels of analytics. Frankly, she was done dirty just because the plot needed her to lose.

@@andrewli6606 Minato dismantled Obito, literally. After one exchange he figured out how to beat his Kamui, and punished him. In my opinion, that doesn't put Konan above Minato, or even above Obito. She had to prep billions of explosive tags. I think that's cool and all, but that doesn't mean she's a badass fighter, that just means she's capable of prepping to create a chain of explosions that lasts for minutes on end. Hell, if you go by her fighting alone, if she hadn't had those tags prepped she was about to get washed. Konan is okay against NPCs, but she wasn't shit compared to Obito, and she's definitely garbage compared to Minato. Jaguar is just delusional.

I guess she thought, even if she WERE to lose while still being alive herself - which she may have considered unlikely given all her prep work, and her willingness to expend herself (and not knowing of busted jutsu like Izanagi 😂) - she'd hidden it well enough that maybe she felt she didn't need to desecrate her one remaining friend's corpse. :') Like, it feels she made enough of a contingency through her 3 main steps, and her having too much respect/emotional attachment to just destroy his eyes feels like good writing to me :') (But I totally get you for practicality!)

How do you write a show with a villian who keeps winning in it? What makes them give power to them instead? Why are all the preparations in place before these scenes? It was close yeah. But he could have won this close 103 more times, according to hidden leaf channel

Yeah, it's far too much of a get out of jail free card. Given Konan put in so much thought to specifically counter him, using some broad get one free cancel just feels cheap. It would've been more satisfying if he managed to exploit some weakness in the paper bombs or utilize his abilities in some way, maybe make a small part of him tangible so he's propelled by the explosions to safety by sacrificing skin or something.

Izanagi is cheap but they did set it up with Danzo and it costs the user their eye permanently. And it makes sense in the theology of their world since their chakra power roots back to creation, with the senju being the origin of life generating power and the uchiha being the source of imaginative creation abilities. The two together make reality. So that the ultimate Uchiha power to be the ability to turn thoughts/dreams/images into reality is consistent with the mythology and not as random as it appears

Ngl this is where I realized he was Obito. The hair , the scars around his crushed side, and like you said it became clear that he was not madara even before part of his face was exposed. But this is definitely in my top 3 SCENES in Naruto. Forget it being a fight just the scene itself and the ominous ost that plays just makes it all that much greater. Plus this is the most savage and most menacing tobi ever was. In just this scene alone he cemented himself as a better villian than the real madara, and even white mask Obito and massless Obito. This scene looked straight outta a high budget movie
