@@HFFCANADA You can delude yourself all you like. In the first place, the only thing, quite obviously, that would be "negotiated" is how much of Ukrainian sovereign land that the Russian dictatorship seized by force they get to keep. And since the stronger party, on your own admission, would effectively dictate terms, quite obviously again, the "negotiations" would be as unequal as the war. But the main way you delude yourself is with your analogy to Poland. Kissin's treacherous view is that first the democracies must abandon Ukraine, and stop arming them, effectively forcing them to capitulate, excuse me, "negotiate". That would render Ukraine even worse off than Poland in 1939. But that's Kissin's preference, the critical betrayal he urges with utterly zero argument. There is no reason in the world, whether moral or real politik, to reduce Ukraine to that helpless state, which is why Kissin didn't dare attempt to provide any.

@@paintsilj I don't know enough about the fascist militias to comment, but you seem to have misunderstood Konstantin's meaning when he said that Russian people do not value life. He was not talking about the average person on the street - the individuals you met during your visits - he was talking about the establishment. And he was talking about the broad values and philosophies that underpin Russian culture with regard to things like individuality, personal expression and liberty - the way in which such values differ between the USSR and, say, the US or UK. We have freedom of speech in the sense that we have the freedom to criticise the government. The trouble with a free society is that it assumes its own freedom after a while and takes for granted its ancient liberties. When its citizens remember their history poorly- or worse, are encouraged to learn it in a distorted form- the people at the top start wondering whether we really need these freedoms anymore. Hopefully, with our patience being tested to the limit with the pandemic we will see some pushback.

I'm an Aussie that crossed class boundaries - impoverished working class to secure middle class. Imo, these Westerners think that everybody thinks like them, wants what they want etc. KK brings a refreshing approach - not every society is the same with people with the same values. I saw this personally teaching Arabic background kids. Two gangs fought, a boy was killed. Revenge and honour overroad everything. This included mothers, sisters and girlfriends supporting the "honour" trail. These were basically good people, by "gang" I mean normal young male behaviour bonded together. Just normal kind of scuffles, but making a bad decision around knives. Basically good teenage boys make bad decisions sometimes. If they're lucky they live to learn from it. Not usually illegal e.g. not drugs, stealing etc. (1990s) Reminded me a lot of my mother's working class people who sent money back to support the IRA inthe Troubles in Ireland. Sometimes even mothers seeing their sons die for a cause is worth it. Think Australians WW1! I don't agree but then I've never been in that position and my "backs never been against the wall" as the expression goes.

As a foreigner living in China, I understand the idea that eventually the population will wake up and see reality for what it is is just Western polyannaish thinking. The first thing to understand about totalitarian societies is not that information is limited, which of course it is, but that critical reasoning abilities are repressed, so that even if the people had access to information that contradicts state propaganda, they simply wouldn't know how to process it. It's like expecting children to stand up and take charge. They're kept in an arrested state of development, so that the leaders can get away with every crime and every lie they want without the slightest backlash.

@@deathrides4756 As dumb as many people in the UK are, you only have to turn on UK TV nowadays to see that, they still have a scintilla of reasoning powers and will certainly stand up for themselves if they feel the government is oppressing them. That's another big difference, we can separate out the government from the country, because in democratic societies governments change so often. Not true is authoritarian societies, where to be against the government is to be against your 'motherland'.

Agreed with the person who said it had made them watch the BBC for the first time in years. Totally enthralling.

Great debate. Konstantin is brilliant and always worth listening to. Trigonometry is a very good show too

So refreshing having someone who doesn't mince words on a show like this. I think several people on the panel (not *that* one obviously) had a few moments of clarity when you spoke.

Sadly not. Their ears are closed and their minds made up. They will follow the party line until another line comes along and guarantees their space at the trough. They are career politicians.

Ah god I've been desparate to see this... Can't bring myself to watch anything on the BBC but to see KK on QT was throughly heartening... Thank you Triggernometry.

Same here, stopped my BBC licence tax & watching live TV just over 3 years ago, best thing I did in ages. Yes, maybe they do some good drama, but not enough to keep me watching & there is good stuff elsewhere too. KK was 🤩

Such a breath of fresh air in politics, you are sharp and I hope you go far in politics Kisin, the world needs a shift. And for once someone who can speak a full sentence without stuttering or talking like a clown.

Konstantin, I've been a long time listener and viewer of Triggernometry, even though I disagree with some of your beliefs or perspectives. I've never commented on your channel before, but I was compelled to do so here. I can see how heartbreaking and emotional this time is for you and your family, so for you to have such a honest, heartfelt, and more importantly insightful appearance, deserves nothing but respect and adoration. I'm not sure you'll even read this, but well done lad. You've done yourself, your countrymen (both Russian and British), and humanity at large a massive service. I wish you and your family strength and courage. Keep fighting the good fight. Ryan

Konstantin always does unbelievably well on mainstream TV in dealing with hostile characters, spectacularly ignorant yet smug talking heads, manipulative editing and underwhelming intelligence all round him. Well done. Always impressive, thumbs up.

Someone talking honestly, candidly, and to the point - Fiona Bruce left completely flustered, as this kind of response is so rarely encountered by panel hosts. If more politicians and commentators adopted Konstantin's approach, I think the public would have far greater respect for them, and faith in them.

Fiona Bruce and the other BBC robots react to the truth with the upper class BBC outrage and fluster that only signals a sense of self importance that is completely unjustified made out of a glass house they created. Shatter the narrative they have created and watch the rats flee.
