Lured by a government amnesty, senior commanders from the LRA are coming out of the bush and speaking about their time with Joseph Kony. In this rare report, they justify their actions.
“He is from God. What he predicts comes true”, states Captain Ray Apire, explaining Kony’s hold over his soldiers. “By making people suffer, he is bringing people close to God”. Commanders explain how they interpreted Jesus’ command to “Go and catch people”, seeing it as an order to abduct children. For the first time in a decade, the government and LRA are involved in serious peace talks. But the conflict is far from over. A woman breaks down describing how her daughter was abducted the previous night. This is the second time her girl has been kidnapped so she knows she will probably be killed.

My motherland still bleeds from effects of this war! It was a useless one without any objective. Caused alot of suffering and death. I lost my beloved uncle in South Sudan when UPDF was chasing these rebels out of our country! May his soul rest in peace

they were granted amnesty so that the war would end. If they weren't they would have fought back and there would have been more bloodshed. It isn't nice but it was better than war. But maybe there is something i'm missing.

Sudan was funding them as the SPLA of South Sudan was being backed by Uganda. And also the DRC government during the second Congo war as the LRA was fighting against Uganda and their proxies in eastern DRC which were fight the Congolese armed forces.

Thermal imaging shows the heat signature it does not give a detailed look at ones face so that would be impossible considering you and I and Kony would all look alike through an infrared scope just a human is all you can make out no distinct facial features or anything

some of the questions of this journalist are downright insensitive. The getting the story should not demean the victims. The girl explains she was abducted how does the journalist ask if the Commandant she was given to was good to her?? these are animals who abducted SIXTY THOUSAND KIDS!
