This song is sublime. One of the Gang's most complex song structures, coupled with beautiful vocals and lush instrumentals, makes for a true classic!

I love Kool and the gang! Th÷ best song they ever recorded was JON.JONES VS JONES. It's about real life, marriage, about sadness, sorrow, hurt, disappointment , the promises made and somewhere, along the way, you grow apart, see things different, and become accustomed to being comfortable. Your lives have changed and in the process, you forget who you were before. To all married couples and those who are about to get married, think about your, wedding vows with all that cones with it. A future unknown because all you see is today. When making those vows, keep them and remember tomorrow is another day. Days turn into years . Honor your vows for all the days of your lives and never become Jones vs Jones. Marion Hunter.

ItI love this song because, to me, it's the best song they ever recorded because it's about love lost, about family divided , pain and heartbreak. It's a reminder of all those years together that no longer exists. The memories will always be with you and regret as well. You will find it difficult to find a new life because you will always miss the one you had. Marion Hunter.

Have to share my little crush story. I was about 18 taking the bus to work near Jamaica Ave. every evening the same gorgeous bus driver would look in the rear view mirror and smile at me the entire trip.( I always ‘accidentally’ ended up in the seat directly behind him LOL)The funny part was, I never learned the words to this song because every time we approached my stop, he had the chorus “here’s where we let go, here’s where we step out” cued up and ready to play for me on cassette, as he said a sad goodbye. He was about 30yrs and although we never ‘talked’ I felt sure that he was taken, because he was too handsome to be single. I wasn’t in love, but oh how I enjoyed the attention and soft smile. I don’t know where he is today, but he made going to a job I truly hated an almost pleasant experience. Thank you, Sir, wherever you are!
