"Something Special' was their best album and this was my best track. I actually enjoyed how JT handled their ballads. Of course I did not know what a 'No show' or heartbreak was in junior high school. The song became poignant years later.

Kool and The Gang one of my favorite bands they had the 80s locked down..I love that they write songs about difficult situations such as being left at the alter (No show)..divorce (Jones vs Jones)..and the passing of a loved on (Cherish The Love) and turn them into hit records..shame they don't make 'em like they used to..greats bands are a thing of the past

The entire album on which it features, that is, 1981's "Something special," was, and still is, a great music album, among the best music albums of our time. This song was heart-breaker. I fell in love with this lady name Jennie in 1981 right after i got out of the Navy and i didn't know she was married, she finally told me. By then it was to late, she had my heart, but i went home alone.
