Carp fish farmer, Carp angler and Biologist, Simon Scott joins Simon Pitt in the studio on this episode of the podcast.
Simon has a Master of Science degree in applied fish biology, making him expert on carp behaviour.
He works as a fisheries consultant, managing several private ponds. He is also a director for Sussex based fish farmers, VS Fisheries.
Away from his busy work schedule, Simon is a fanatical Carp angler, notably capturing the then British record carp known as “Mary” from Wraysbury. Today he continues to target some of the largest and most cherished carp in the country.
Over the years he has regularly written for various fishing publications and has presented and co-presented numerous television show’s, including Korda’s Thinking Tackle.

Well its 3.16 am and I got in from work at 11pm just watch the full thing in one sitting and it just gives you that instant buzz to be out fishing for carp. simon scott is a legend in my eyes the enthusiasm and raw passion he has for carp and carp fishing shows so much in the way he tells a story. Best pod cast yet ...

I’ve had to rewatch this podcast as it’s my favourite one and it’s even more enjoyable the second time 3 years later, the emotion in Simons voice while telling his Mary story is incredible 👌🏻👌🏻

Ive studied aquaculture for 4 years and made a living from fish farming/fishery management for about 9 years... yet every time i listen to simon i learn so so so many new things, he’s a wealth of knowledge and great at explaining his point 👌👌👌

The best ever podcast, Simon Scott is one legendary guys, I could listen to him for hours. Also I'm dyslexic and anything fish related is my thing. I've been fishing for 30+years but carp fishing is my thing now.

With the Exception of maybe Julian Cundiff, this podcast blows all the others out of the water. Exceptional, not a tackle tart, not a carp sheep, a true innovator which others who have appeared, cannot boast. 5 stars Mr Scott

Loved the stuff Simon has previously done but when I saw nearly 3 1/2 hours thought I was just going to dip in but got drawn in to it and did the whole thing in bits. Glad I did, thoroghly enjoyed it, knew of his fish science/farming knowledge but not of his capture history. Great story teller with such enthusiasm, and some great insights, seems I have probably caught more leathers than I thought! Thanks Simon and the team.
