Korda TV Carp Fishing

Күн бұрын

Frank Warwick is one of carp fishing’s most acknowledged individuals. He has enjoyed a tremendous share of carp angling success from numerous waters, both at home and abroad.
Frank has also lived and fished through the most formative years of the sport and has contributed tremendously to the development and enhancement of traditional carp-catching methods and baits, most notably the Chod rig.
He currently works as a fishing consultant for Sonik Sports and is the author of the successful angling publication, Every Bit of Blue.
On this episode of the podcast, Frank and Simon discuss everything from his personal life and interests, to the cutting-edge carp fishing ideas and innovations that he is so widely renowned for.

Absolutely one of my angling heroes. I can still recall seeing frank casting obscene distances at Horton about twenty years ago. Blew my mind. At that point I didn’t even know carp rods could do what he made them do. I think he might have blown one up. Legend. I remember watching one of his slide shows at sandown. He had just signed for Dynamite and it was big news. He was asked what his favourite bait was, most others would have towed the line and said The Source at the time. Franks answer was sweet corn, absolutely no bullshit. I bet the Dynamite guys must have thought oh god what have we done. Absolutely no f@@ks given. Great to see him recovering well.

@@frankwarwick8068 Enjoyed the video, especially the bit about the bow cast as you call it, have used this cast for many many years when lure fishing but again you have to be very careful how you hold the lure!! also an advantage of using glassfibre lure rods you can pull a small tight bend in the tip and it wont snap.

Met Frank a number of times at Capesthorne whe he was fishing there and the Mere, he's the same now as he was then. Once you got talking he never stopped and he was just as free with advice, maybe not the latest stuff that was bagging them on the Mere but always seemed keen to help people put fish on the bank for other people, that wasn't always appreciated by some (lot of secrecy at that time) but I always enjoyed chatting to him. Thanks guys enjoyed that.

What an absolute top bloke, so much experience and knowledge, been at the top of his game forever. On a personal note, I too am a military brat, who was born at the military hospital in Mtarfa, Malta, my father too was in the navy and was posted their just as my parents had just got married in 1966. They talk about their time there with found memories and with me been their first born in 67, means a lot. So it was a great surprise to here the place of my birth mentioned on a Carp Podcast. Thanks Frank

When I first started angling age 6 on my own with some dodgy 5ft foot fibre glass rod fishing set think it cost a fiver from a local general store, I went to this local lake started chucking it out and can't even remember what bait i used if any 😂and this guy came along probably a bailiff, said you can't fish here its members and so on,this was the mid 80s but this man spent some time with me, he never told me off he saw me for what I was just a child aged 6 just 6 without a clue and he taught me how to cast and told me what tackle id need to start my fishing adventure, the fish that really caught my attention and still holds deep respect from me is pike, I know the reason I got hooked on carp fishing down the road, its easier fishing with greater rewards , regardless of how hard and difficult it can be catching these whily old clued up fish and blanking hoping for that 20 or 30 you've been hoping for, you could be blanking off the back of kings weir hoping for your first 5lb chub or live baiting 20 yards off of cheshunt lock or dobbs weir for your first 20lb pike

Korda and Simon, excelled. Spell bound by Frank’s knowledge and what great stories these carping legends have. I bet Sonik are pleased they don’t specialise in weighing scales. Frank don’t need scales when he’s already sensed the weight of the carp swimming up to his rig for a mouthful. Learnt so much in these 3 hrs.

Met Frank in 2000 when he cast over the River Danube in Vienna, being a keen young Carp Angler back then, it was when he showed me the Chod and took all the time in the world for me to explain all of its details. So approachable for us youngsters - what a fantastic experience and ,,kick" to get even crazier about carping.. My feeling told me back then, this is a somebody who you wish to have as a friend and call yourself lucky. Always honest. Always straight. And A BIG heart. Often times we met again after. Never disappointed since. See you soon Frank, I hope. Benji
