In the 80's I was teaching in a school in Rizal and we had two Korean girls who enrolled in Grade school. Super bilis nilang natutong magsalita ng Filipino. It just took them a few months to learn and speak both English and Filipino fluently. Day to day interactions with classmates and playmates really helped.
