🇰🇷 Korean Food Tour in LA (Part 1): • Huge KOREAN FOOD Tour!...

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - Again, welcome to LA, home to one of the biggest Korean populations outside of Korea. Steve from ‪@RockstarEater‬ and I are eating our way through Koreatown LA, this time focusing on some of the best Korean BBQ, but a cheese pull Korean corn dog competition to begin!
If you haven’t already seen Part 1 of this ultimate Korean food tour in Koreatown, watch Part 1 here: • Huge KOREAN FOOD Tour!...
Here are the Korean food and restaurants included in this video:
Sun Ha Jang Restaurant (goo.gl/maps/JihnCcvxMRTChxhS9) - Sun Ha Jang Restaurant serves a unique Korean bbq menu of duck - and come to think of it, I don’t think I had really ever eaten duck during any of my trips to South Korea, but this restaurant in Koreatown specializes in it. They serve you a unique duck bbq experience with all the banchan. But the best part of the meal is at the end when you have a pool of melted duck fat, which is then cooked with rice and kimchi to make an award winning fried rice.
Two Hands Seoul Fresh Corn Dogs (goo.gl/maps/HvsTWJMkfx2DJKi36) - Next up, Steve and I had a Korean corn dog competition. It was my first time to try these trendy corn dogs, which are actually not dogs at all, but rather cheese or rice sticks on the inside. We had a hilarious time with a cheese pulling competition.
Ahgassi Gopchang (goo.gl/maps/QprA5yzPy3E3RZqC6) - Finally, to end this ultimate Korean food tour of Koreatown in LA, we went to Ahgassi Gopchang, which is an amazing Korean bbq restaurant. The food and the cuts of meat, especially the galbi, Korean short ribs and large intestines were stand out!
And that completes this Korean food tour!

Among the food culture of Korea, special things that distinguish it from the food culture of other countries. // 1. Perfect vegan food represented by Korean Buddhist temple food 2. An endless variety of soup dishes 3. Kimchi: Vegetables fermented with animal protein represented by cabbage kimchi. In the past, only Koreans made and ate it. There are over 800 types of kimchi. 4. Jeotgal: A fermented animal-based sauce made from seafood. In Korea, there are more than 140 different types of salted fish. 5. Ssam: It means wrapping all the ingredients you want to eat in various leafy vegetables represented by lettuce. However, unlike burritos, you have to swallow them in one bite, so you need to adjust the amount of ingredients to be wrapped appropriately. 6. Herbal Medicine Ingredients : Herbal medicine ingredients are not only eaten for special diseases or health, but are also often used for general home cooking. For example, as ingredients for Samgye-tang, Mulberry, Tree Aralia, Eleutherococcus Sessiliflorus, Mongolian Milkvetch, Korean Angelica, Ginger, Jujube and Korean Ginseng are used. // Etc... Korea shows a distinctly different food culture from neighboring countries in Far East Asia (China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Japan).

I had Sun Ha Jang last year and it was amazing. I don't get to enjoy going to kbbq often because I don't eat beef or pork and those are usually the stars at most kbbq restaurants. I had the same waitress as them and she is so great at explaining how to eat everything and making sure you really get the best out of your experience and the duck.

Wow, duck meat! I normally cook it adding chopped onions, chives and sometimes bellpppers altogether. I also heard that duck fat is good for body so I don't remove. My mouth is watering! Stir-fried rice looks amaaaaaazing! Corn dogs!!! I'm going to 명랑핫도그 (similar corn dog store in korea) tomorrow!!! Never been to LA. Great virtual tour! I had so much fun watching. Thank you.
