After not seeing grandma for 3 months, we decided to visit her. She has always wanted Jun to have a haircut to fit in with other boys. In fact, Jun has never had a problem with long hair except being mistaken for a girl at times. He's still a normal kid when he goes out. Despite this, grandma has been requesting we get Jun a haircut for the past few years. She's been worried that being four years old with long hair has been enough. Now she is able to see the results of what she's been waiting for.

You guys remind me of me and my wife. We went through a bad patch at one point. Caused us both to put on weight and not look out for each other as much. We became roomates really. Number one cause of friction in our lives was my mother. At the time I didn't understand the friction they were causing. She was my mother after all and I love her. But, when my wife packed her bags and left one day flying 13 hours away with my son. It crippled me. it gave me 4 months alone to contemplate. I wanted to give us another ago. So I fought for my wife and my son. But, most importantly I had to tell my mother to stop interefering and criticising my wife. And trust me this wasn't easy there were multiple occaisons were my mother continued to go over boundaries we set. But, everytime I was there to defend my wife. it was the best thing I did for my family. I love my wife more than I have ever done. I'm blessed I come home from work and she treats me like a king because I protect her as my queen. It saved our marriage and our physical health. Henry mate I noticed your mother really gives Diana a hard time. During the twins birthday episode Diana wanted to go to a theme park for her birthday your mother said no. Diana suggested a big restraunt your mother said no. It really hurt me watching that as it reminds me of the pain my wife must have felt. One fella to another you need to speak up for your wife or risk loosing her and your kids in future.

I think this might be harder for Henry. His mother has actually done ALOT for them financially. More than my mother-in-law could or would’ve ever done even if she had the means. Henry must feel so conflicted wanting to respect his mom. He’s doing the same thing my husband did (MIL has since passed away) always trying to ease the tension and make it seem as if it’s just a matter of Dianna misunderstanding. He’s caught in a hard place since his mother has done so much financially. The women will need to work out their relationship if they can.

Wow I love your comment it's so true. I wish more men did exactly as you did which is speak up for your wife. But at the same time I can see wanting her to feel that respect to. To me I really don't understand mother in law's and why some of them treat wives....Even good wives to their son's like this in Any race or culture. Because I am currently feeling this way myself. I loved that you said the key word you protected your wife.... That's a awesome feeling when your husband protects you as well as your home an marriage.... Blessings to you and your family 🙌🏾🙏🏽❤️

I love that Dianna and support you - “we wear want we want for our own comfort and pleasure - not for others”. Others who disagree and place criticism are reflecting their own insecurities and red flags. You continue to be authentically you Dianna, don’t feel you need to change or bend/negotiate your boundaries for others - your example will teach your children to be authentically and unapologetically themselves and if others don’t like it, than that’s on them and not on you 🙌🏽💫

Not sure where all this negativity and spitefulness is coming from? I wouldn't be surprised if Dianna decides to stop sharing family moments if this is the type of reception she will be getting. It's not fair to paint a negative picture of a family just from a 15 minute snippet of their lives. There are many videos where Minji is shown plenty of love! Hope you and your family are well Dianna 🙏
@LuvThyMind29
@LuvThyMind29 Жыл бұрын
I don't think it's spite. People very often give advice that isn't asked for without meaning any harm. Also, people fail to communicate properly what it is they truly mean to say. Most people recognize that while they've made these videos about Jun lately, it doesn't mean they prefer him and love him more. Most people here don't see Dianna and Kyungho showing preference for one child over the other. I think what people are trying to communicate is that others in society, other people that make appearances in their video, seem more drawn to Jun and give him attention. I recall a random auntie grabbing Jun, picking him up, swinging him around, giving him a free soda (maybe Minji wondered why she didn't get one); l recall them having a family with young girls over to the house and seeing them taking toys from Minji while running around with, carrying and playing with Jun; some people see Grandma interacting more with Jun. I think people just point it out to Dianna so they can be aware. However, I'm sure Dianna knows very well already that boys, and particularly lighter skinned boys, are treated differently in society everywhere. It will be hard to raise twins because they will always be compared and they will always be comparing their own situation in society with the others' situation. I'm not sure what people expect Dianna and Kyungho to do. I'd say I guess to give Minji love and attention if it looks like others are enamored with Jun. I didn't see anything wrong in this video though..

Actually, Henry's blood pressure is not bad, at all. His diastolic is under 80 and systolic is only just above 120. Considering he just ate a large meal and is engaging with family, its pretty good. @@48mavemiss2 you are so pathetic!! She said that he's pressure was over the normal(12,6) and that's not true! And it's sad cause as in medical dramas too, lots of people are watching and getting the wrong idea! As for not speaking when you take the blood pressure,when she said she was unsure!!!, it's quite true but that was an instruction for the old pressure gauge as you had to listen the heart beat!! And we never check our blood pressure after eating or exercise or feeling anxiety! We have to rest for a few minutes, put our hand in a stable place,like a table and our hand almost at the height of our heart! We should check twice the pressure and find the average! So it's not jealousy but consern for what a you tuber says and gives a bad information! At least that's what we have learnt in medical school! Protect people!

Getting along with your in-laws can definitely be a challenge 💆🏻‍♀️ I see Diana trying to accommodate to her in-laws in a very conscientious and selfless way. Even though Diana's mother in law wants the best for her, there should be a healthy limit and I think she just stated it very nicely 👏🏼 In my case I love my in-laws, but I believe part of the reason we have such a good relationship, is because they live hundreds of miles away ✈️ In some ways it's hard on our family, but in other ways, it's just so much easier.

*Diana has done a few videos reinforcing their identity in having Brown skin and curly hair. Pls don't make such a conclusion re her daughter from ONE video.* Diana is a teacher and very balanced in the way she interacts with them BOTH. Minji was just quieter today bcs she LOVES to eat & was focused on THAT.😁 🔹Jun was the center of attention only in these last 2 videos & RIGHTFULLY so. In other videos Minji usually SEEMS to get MORE ATTENTION than Jun bcs she is more outspoken. He is usually quietly sucking his finger while Minji talks more. A lot of twins are opposites. When they go out, she is with her Dad most of the time so by default her brother goes to his Mom. *You don't have to worry. They are not experiencing insecurity or rejection of their skin tone by others. BOTH parents make sure of that.* You can search for the videos where Diana & Henry dealt with these topics. Blessings!💛

It's no big surprise to me, then, that they eat Korean food so well. This is about culture, not race. The children are culturally Korean. They are Korean citizens , living a culturally Korean lifestyle. They are not even culturally American, because they have spent their whole life, continuously living in Korea, immersed predominantly in Korean lifestyle, and culture. Dianna has taught them to be proud of their melanated skin. She can teach them about black history, but that won't mean they are culturally black, but will instill in them a sense of pride. They can then feel a sense of pride about both their Korean and black heritage.

Why is his mother or grandmother trying to dictate what you wear? Maybe their house is too cool for you so you need a sweater. They must not know Americans don’t like to be told what to do, especially how to dress. I’m glad you stood up for yourself and you handled it way better than I would have. I would have been ticked that he even brought up the fact that his mother complained. I could see if you were dressing provocative, but it’s a sweater. Why does she care if you’re wearing a sweater? The kids are so cute! 🥰

My husband is not Korean and I am not Black but Hispanic. I have experienced the same dress issues with my mother-in-law who is a Southern White woman. I am very respectful of their culture and dress codes so I do not contradict her and I dress accordingly when I visit my in-laws. Life is too short and there is no need to show aggressiveness in any shape or form. Asian cultures are very respectful of their elders and are traditional people. I respect everyone and I expect the same treatment from others. Your husband's way of dressing for work is okay as there are no complaints. Your children are beautiful and their voices are so sweet. I need those chopsticks so that I can learn to use them. LOL

I hope that if either of you feel like you are falling into depression or the anxiety or emotional pressure is becoming too much, then you can feel comfortable enough to find a third person like a social worker or therapist or counselor to talk to privately and release your stress. It's not good to bottle it up or take it out on your spouse. There's online counseling like better help too if you can't find someone local to help.

I think Henry is stuck btw his mom and Dianna when his mom inputs her opinion of how something should be or look. I noticed that his mom when she talks about Dianna, she will ask Henry and not directly to Dianna. I think Dianna is right about asking, if Henry's mom ever tries to learn about other cultures. She should because Jun and MInji are interracial. Jun and Minji is not only learning about Korean cultures, they are also going to learn about Dianna's culture as well. I think Henry's mom is very smart and I think she can learn some English as well, and speak to Dianna a lot more. Dianna, you should dress the way you want to and wear the sweater without getting grief about from anyone. I also thought that the beautiful place you are living in now, that you should have known about it was bought. I know Henry's mom and Henry only talked about on their own and Dianna learned about it later. I think Dianna could have balanced finding a new place, on top of taking care of the kids. I know though, that Henry's mom does love Dianna. Dianna, your Korean is really good and you can see the effort you are putting into learning the language. You should be proud of yourself. Jun and Minji speak Korean really well, Kids pick language a lot more easier than adults. You can tell Halmoni (Grandma) favourit is Jun, not to say she doesn't love Minji, I've always noticed she is more into Jun.

@@aestheticsbyjasmine940 Megan , I love her , but she definitely is in a better place of privilege because of her fair skin and fit body- she's pretty much the most "inoffensive" and "agreeable" a foreigner can get, not taking away from anything she is or has done but ,it's much easier for her to assimilate and be accepted compared to Dianna :(
