Thank you for posting this video. As a Korean, I am always grateful for all those young Americans who fought in the Korean War. Souls of nearly 40,000 young Americans went up to God in the valleys and mountains of Korea. They gave their lives for strangers. They are my heroes and I will always remember them.

My Dad was a Korean War veteran and he always said that Korea was definitely a forgotten war. He fought with the VA until about eighteen months before his death before he ever got anything for his service. I was blown away when I saw this memorial. Thank you for posting it.

I am Korean. My family fled during the Korean War and settled in Busan and has been living well so far. After a long time, the Republic of Korea has developed a lot and suffered a lot in the war. I'm helping countries that are missing. All of these are the sacrifices of many countries that helped during the Korean War and thanks to people. It's been a long time now, but many people still appreciate and remember your hard work during the Korean War. Thank you very much for protecting the Republic of Korea with young blood during the Korean War. I will never forget your sacrifice in the Korean War until I die. Thank you. You are the true heroes of Korea.

My Grandad was a Korean War Veteran and it brought a tear to my eye when I visited it when I went to DC back in 05. He took pictures of his time in Korea back in the 50's and his pictures look similar to the ones on the mural they have there!

One of the most brutal, afflicted war to both Countries. We lost so many of our sons and we buried them in our hearts and memories. As a Korean, we thank you and not forgetting generations after generation. We pray for all our young American Heroes.

It has been 70 years since this war was started and I am stunned at the fact that the Anniversary was not mentioned this year. This is truly the Forgotten War. Thank You to All the soldiers who died in this war and those that survived and all the civillians who died in this war. You are not forgotten!!

I'm an American studying Korean because I'm getting my ESL certification and I wanna teach over there. This is probably the greatest thing we ever did as a country.... We went in and saved an entire country from Communism, and asked nothing in return. No land, no reperations, just loyalty. Looking at North Korea now, and the great famine in 1994 it is clear we did the right thing despite having multiple motives for fighting this war. The end result was saving a country from a madman dictator who doesn't care for his people at all.

My grandpa served in korean war as a pilot in 18th fighter-Bomber Wing. They were spearheading the allied advance to pyongyang when he was shoot down and killed. Godbless that man 🇺🇸

what a beautiful memorial. The black granite really adds a lot to the sombre feel but it's everything put together that really gives such a powerful effect. You can really catch the etching at the end while you're signing off and with the light and everything it's beautifully eerie . I hope you and Bev have a good week! How is she feeling? I hope the shingles pain has subsided. 😊

There's a field trip at my school to go from San Diego to D.C and I'd go because you go here (among other places like Arlington National Cemetery, the Vietnam wall and the Washington monument) because both my uncle's (my uncle's family actually used to own Alpine, San Diego, and my grandpa's family used to own all of El Cajon) brothers fought in Korea and I know one died in Nevada, I don't know what happened to the other, but anyway I'd go to show my respect to them but don't have enough money, anyway cool vid

My father is Frank C. Gaylord, the sculptor of those 19 figures. You're pretty spot on you know your stuff. He was awarded the commission in 1989. Red tape etc is why it took so long for completion. Too long. You're right dedicated in 1995. O was there in Washington for it. I Was about 29 back then.

Being the grandson of a Marine that served in 2 wars,fought in and survived Iwo jima and the Chosin Reservoir I naturally took tge time to learn about both. Iwo Jima gets alot of recognition but the Chosin reservoir may have been the absoute worst battle the USMC has ever fought.

My Father was a Veteran of the Korean War! He was with the 187th AirBorne. My Father saw his entire platoon killed. Does anyone have a family member that was there? Chosun and Monson? I was in Korea in 1992 and 2007

And all in a places on the fringes of the geography books. The Korean War... A fight many believed to be the beginning of World War 3. It was a monumental conflict marked by panic, and moments of stunning courage..by retreat and advance, misunderstanding, and blunder. In just three years of fighting in Korea, nearly as many American soldiers will have died, as in a decade of fighting in Vietnam.. On all sides, military and civilian, there would be nearly four million dead. It is *the* defining conflict of the Cold War.. a battleground on which the use of nuclear weapons is a frightening possibility. Today, the Korean War is mostly forgotten... like a nightmare so gruesome, it cannot survive the memory of morning. Forgotten, except for those who were really there. “I haven’t had a bath in ten days. We live like cavemen. It's interesting that it was set up so late. I know this channel isn't about politics, but I'm courius to know how generally the american public think about war, espacially when the US is currently bombing multiple countries (is it six or seven?). Otherwise, great video. Now, when we're aldready talking history, as a Swede, I would want to know if there is anything reminding of the swedish colony that existed for about two decades in whats now Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey? Or was it just a too short time period.
