Hello everyone! Thank you so much for viewing the video of Giggle. It was really fun. This happens in real life. My mom would always tell me to stop being shy. When I meet people for the first time it takes awhile to warm up (this also includes dating) but when you are my friend I can’t shut up 🤣 it was truly a pleasure and I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. Merry Christmas and let’s all have amazing and great memories in the coming new year! 🎄🎁 🎇 🎆

It's really heartwarming to see males compliment eachother, especially if it's to do with features. I think sometimes we don't realize just how different lifestyles are around the world so for a man to be comfortable enough to say another man is ''cute'' or ''handsome'' is something very special and needs to be normalized. This was a lovely social experiment that should happen a lot more often, join hands in heart.
@AnakinSkywalker909
@AnakinSkywalker909 2 жыл бұрын
Sad that most males feel that they can't compliment another man's looks. It's because of all the judgement/hate that gay people have gotten for years. Straight males don't want to feel that hate in any way, so they hold back compliments.

Likely because asians have very smooth and undefined faces, with not so many unique features that stand out. It's strange how people in other parts of the world would find that to be the perfect face, meanwhile in Asia it's the opposite.

The one thing I noticed is that when a Korean meets an American is that they can drop the formalities. It's almost a sigh of relief for them. If they met some other Korean for the first time they would have to keep the formalities up. Because their society requires them to do so. But with an American they don't have to because he doesn't expect them to be formal. Notice at 3:17 how Yumi touches his shoulder when he says he is so nervous. Bom compares hands with him at 9:40. Would they do that with a Korean man that they just met?
@xHarmonious

I think the hand comparing could be much more common than you think in videos like these, but the shoulder-touching really is something rare I think.
@hannahjeon5087
@hannahjeon5087 2 жыл бұрын
Nope, I dont think they would. As a Korean (born in the US though), whenever I meet another Korean I have to be formal because it’s rude to be informal to strangers. Notice how some of the people in the video bowed. Koreans (and probably most Asians) normally bow when meeting a new person- especially someone who is older than you. I think that they became more relaxed when realizing that they’re talking to an American because Americans dont have the same manners as we do. Also, I think Bom compared hands because to Koreans it’s interesting since we dont interact with Americans that much, kinda like meeting an alien. Also (from my experience) Yumi touched his shoulder because it was funny. So thats my explanation. But Im not completely sure about all of this because I was born in the US, but I go to Korea sometimes.

As a black man here from/in America Brooklyn, NY to be exact. I truly understand and agree with him. 2017 I took at that time my 6 & 8 year old daughter and son with me to Japan for a spring break vacation. That was one thing I taught them, when going to someone else country you must respect them, their culture, language, and rules if you can't then never go. I research the do's and don'ts before entering as well as learned and taught my kids basic Japanese words to get by. Turned out to be a wonderful trip and wonderful experience. Watching this made me understand why at one of the parks I was approached by a man that asked to take a picture of my family and I with him as he was from South Korea. They love Americans and are impressed I guess being black also is a plus as well 🤣. I highly recommend people to travel more and visit others way of life and living we can truly learn a lot from one another.

I mean, in fairness. Most people of all countries don't concern themselves with the geographical locations of other countries that aren't in their immediate vicinity. For example, when Brennen stated that he was from South Carolina, the first response was 'I don't know where that is'. It's a common thing between nations. I would very much assume they were prepped beforehand, and selected. In Bournemouth, UK we had a lot of English language students from Korea (even Korean churches, supermarkets). Absolutely no trouble at all, polite, clean, hardworking, modern, honest, integrated into the local community. They stayed with local families, went to ridiculously over-priced English schools, and presumably got a short stay visa to do some travelling. Then, after a few years, they refused to come over because it was not an 'authentic' experience, namely, there were too many immigrants, too many arab shops. They also refused to have a non-white teacher as they felt they paid for 'a real British' person, causing employment issues. Then one Korean woman, young student, was unfortunately stabbed in the back, she was walking down a perfectly normal residential road in Charminster at night and had never met the person. As she was dying she described the person as arab. That was pretty much the end of the era of the Korean students in Bournemouth.

Can you have Brennan as a recurring guest? Pretty please 🥺 He doesn't have to become regular cast or anything....just the occasional episode so we can enjoy his interactions with everyone...it's pretty obvious they all really liked his personality and he seems to have had a blast so why not do it again sometime? 😁

His reactions are more Korean more than American. Look at how he puts hand to mouth when laughing.

I find it so interesting how it’s culturally appropriate and common enough to casually just tell people you like their specific facial features. If stranger started detailing and going in about my face, I’d be so confused loo

It's definitely interesting. When you have a small face it constantly gets pointed out while they show their fist in comparison. Everyone from bosses, coworkers, strangers on the street, store workers, doctors, etc. would gush about my small face 'the size of a fist' and I found it a bit funny.

Brennan is a great guy! I really like what he said at the end, and agree with him 100%! When you go abroad ( to Korea or anywhere outside your home country)...it is important to know you are a guest and should show your respect and learn a bit about how to be polite in their culture! Minsu’s reaction at 8:08 is priceless! Minsu is a great addition to the Giggle cast! Jaewon really does have the best sense of humour! Jaewon always makes me laugh! Taesang speaks really well in English 👍!!! Yumi, Jaewon, Bom, Taesang, Jungmi & Minsu are so kind and Wonderful! I appreciate everyone at Giggle! Thank you all ( PDnim too)!!!!

Actually, I agree with Ain Du that it's possible. In my experience, I changed a lot of my manners and personality living years in another country. I guess it does change who you are if you merge into the new culture... today even though I came back to my home country I still have some traits learned by their culture while living abroad :)

I spent 2 years in China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand. Also mma fighting, teaching English, and culinary arts. You get a gold star for learning the native language, dispelling myths that all westerners are rude, and that martial artists are mean. Whenever I travel, it’s to learn food culture and music, always show respect to those who are willing to share their homeland with me. You are a guest, until you are considered local. And anytime you travel, you are an ambassador for your country, I wish Americans would be more polite, don’t make us cool ones look bad with poor behavior. Cool video man.👍🏾
