I've watched a lot of Jeremy's reviews and the Korg EK-50 is the only time I've seen him do an actual tutorial on the functions and use of any specific keyboard. To me that really says a lot. I'm buying this board.

This is it! This is the video that made me finally decide on which keyboard I'll be buying and oddly enough, it's not this Korg model, but the Korg XE-20. I was teetering between the Casio CDP-S350 and the Casio XP-S3000 because I wanted an 88 key piano with arranger functions that I can stick in a closet when I'm not playing. The Yamaha DGX is too big and to be honest, too expensive considering the competition. But the Korg keyboard preprogrammed sound sets, arranger functions... two intros, four variations, and two endings... along with the additional easy on/easy off sound layering and simple effects editing on this and the XE-20 Korg seem to be way ahead of what the Casios I mentioned can do. Plus I love the fact that I'll be able to load additional Korg styles for free ... even if I don't like some, free is free. Korg wasn't even on my radar until I saw your videos. I used to play in a band for fun years ago. I owned a Korg Poly Six, Korg SP-80S piano, a Korg RK-100 keytar & EX-800 module... all professional level instruments. All I want to do is sit down and play without a whole lot of fussing around, and the XE-20 is the closest thing that checks off all my "boxes". THANK YOU!!!

Great to see a tutorial posted!!! Korg just can't be bothered with our EK model ..thanks J for taking time out to do this ....it's handy to make a quick headed note on a single sheet as a reminder for the hidden 'shift' button functions ...this board is so simple when you get into it ...so much easier than the PA op.system.. Another handy tip is being able to toggle between two buttons ( one on and one off ) hit the two together and they auto switch on and off . Korg have also placed several sets adjacent which work well together if you notice, so you can simply +/- between some suitable sets on the fly .. Thanks J ...korg owe you one!!! Keith

Excellent tutorial, Jeremy! And perfect timing for me - I just picked up my EK-50 Friday. It's my first arranger keyboard after many years of "playing" piano/keyboard. What a different experience! i bought the EK-50 two weeks ago(thanks to your reviews on similarly priced products!) and I already figured out half the stuff in this video myself but I was struggling with the rest. your video was all I needed, thank you. one thing missing in this video was information about some of the style buttons, but i guess it is covered in your in Depth features video.

One of the best information for any aspiring buyer like me or who already bought. Great stuff. This helps to anyone just jumpin' directly to use it instead of flipping the user manuals and messing it up. So many times good products are become not usable because of the lack of manuals or user guidance. This video solves this issue. Thumbs up!

I can't find the PRS A350 here in the USA. So, do you know what portable 61-key keyboard do you recommend that's best for middle eastern music? Hi Jeremy thanks for your helpful instructional videos but can you please tell owners how to access all of the 700 voices. I have owned the EK 50 since last March but did not know for a long time how to find all the voices. If you press shift and upper 1 at the same time you discover all 20 plus pianos then the same with all the other category instruments. This opens up a whole set of wonderful sounds. I have never heard this technique from any of the demonstrations ..The piano and different saxophone sounds are amazing in my opinion from such an affordable keyboard. Hope this helps..

High value - thanks Jeremy. Q: for BANK assignments, can settings be individually named? SETLIST/BANK (A-J)/SETTING (1-4) = 40 saves, which is great but unfriendly. Easier to 'name' them (eg) FAKE TAURUS or (eg) JARRE PIANO or (eg) KASHMIR1, KASHMIR2, KASHMIR3, KASHMIR4, which takes me across one Zepp tune seamlessly etc. Hope the Q is clear. Aside, still looking but this board seems to be so versatile the more I learn. Ciao from Canada.

Hi Jeremy! I’m trying to connect a sustain pedal (m audio sp2) to my Korg ek50. And there is a problem - it works only with upper parts (upper 1,2,3), but doesn’t work with lower part in split mode. How can I manage with it? Thank you in advance;)

He Jeremy, I have the CT-X5000 and want to play a midi file(I have tried different types) via USB Stick. I have formated the stick with the keyboard and copied the midi file via PC into the MUSICDAT folder. But it does not work. Always the same error "Err No File". Do you have an idea?

Hello Jeremy, Can you let me if Korg EK-50 and Yamaha PSR-E463 has touch-responsive keys and feels the same as Casio CT-X3000 ? I try to find one that has similar to 'weighted' key and the last piano I bought ( CTX700 ) has a pretty nice feeling when pressing the keys. so I just wanted to know if Korg and Yamaha's keys also feels the same.
