I tried many times to use styles from MP3 which was I got from computer, but won't work in my Korg PA4x, what wrong with it?

Only midi, mp3 is unable to convert to style, just midi

hmm? well, well, well, how do you convert MP3 to MIDI in order to work as MIDI to style? I have tried with out any success.

Hi Jacob. audio is ultimately a waveform with no discerning data for individual components of the sounds that make up that waveform. The result... is there is basically no real way to separate audio in to indvidual parts that can then be clearly assigned MIDI not data. In a nutshell - forget it. Hope that helps!

when it converts to a style, does it use use only of the variations ? is it possible to allow converting certain sections of the MIDI file to one variation and other sections of the same MIDI file to another variation ? and what about the fills ? is it possible to convert the MIDI fill pattern to real fill in the style ?

+Bassam Esa Hi The midi converter is completely automatic and splits up the variations its self to generate sections of the song

It's a very disappointing feature, especially if like me you were counting on it. Basically the better the midi file, the worse will be the conversion. It's OK with something very basic, which is what Korg and everyone else demonstrates. I fell for it, but I've since found out that the more the midi arrangement is well done (complex if you prefer) the more muddled will be the conversion. You can make adjustments, but they're difficult and limited. Musically I'd describe the result as if the band and orchestra are playing the same chord, but throwing around random notes. Then you have the drummer who insists on doing the busiest fill of the song, on every fill. I've only had the keyboard a few months, and I'm finding it very complicated with a steep learning curve. You have to go through menus with many passages, press here, press there, press another and so on. I hope I'll get to like it, because it costs a of money.

I felt the same when I first got my leyboard, but now im getting to better and better. As long as it doesnt brake on me I will like it.

Sergio - this seems like an honest review. Can I ask one question: I'm considering selling Korg Pa 3X and buying PA 700 just for this function. Is this worth at all? I mean compared to MIDI - Cubase - Conversion of midi tracks for styles?

@@MayoVox Hi Marjan, I don't know the PA700, so I can't really say. There are a number of Facebook groups where you could ask the question. After two years with the PA4X, and a huge amount of time spent getting to know the instrument, I now like it a lot more, which I suppose is to be expected. I recently considered replacing it with a number of other keyboards, but then found I'd be missing more than I would gain, so I've kept it. However the midi to style conversion function is still unusable. I have my doubts it will be any better on the 700.

@@SergioCeccherini Thanks for the replay. They say that PA 700 works the same as PA 4x, so I don't expect it to be better that PA4x. I guess I'll stick with my beautiful PA 3X and continue cutting midi-s to convert them into styles
