I have two pairs of Korker boots and one pair of Korker wet wading shoes. My oldest pair is wearing out slowly. I have studded felts soles and typically get 1.5 seasons out of them. Absolutely love ‘em.

I have a pair of Simms boots but this isn't a knock on Korkers but a shout out to the Boa people. On my recent trip to Montana one of the wires broke on my Simms boots the very first day on the Madison. After contacting Boa that night (we have a friend that works for Boa) he was able to overnight me a replacement kit. I found a video online that showed me how to replace the broken wire and I was back in business the next day. Props to Boa! Joe, love the videos as always especially when the boys out fish you!

Hey Joe. I really appreciate your videos. I have learned a lot from them. Just a quick tip from the folks at Korkers. They say to push in the toe section of the new sole and hook the strap on the back. The first time you step into the boot it will latch the six tabs on the sides. Even faster changes! Thanks again.

I love my Korkers. I started with the Greenback, then upgraded last year to the Darkhorse with the Boa system. I have multiple soles, from felt to rubber with studs to aluminum bars. Something for every situation. Plus they are very comfortable.

I've had really good luck with these, my partner here Steve Joyce got the Devil's Canyon before I did and raved about them. I tried them and have also been really impressed. I am shocked the new soles went right in after a year of hard use. That wasn't staged. I was nervous it would be tough getting them in but it was easy.

Great review! I fish primarily in two states, West Virginia and Maryland, often in the same day. Maryland prohibits the use of felt soles but they are legal in WV. I have had my Korker boots for nearly 10 years (not the Boas) and switch soles very frequently. Just this season, I noticed a small tear on one boot where the tab on the rear of the sole attaches to the boot. I definitely don’t fish as often as you do Joe, but I average 25 to 30 outings a year. My next pair of wading boots will definitely be Korkers.

I currently wear Korkers Buckskins. They've been through 3-4 seasons and are starting to show some wear, but overall I'm happy with them. I prefer the new "Idrogrip" rubber soles to the rubber soles that came with the boots originally. Not a huge fan of the studs though. They're unsafe when you're crawling down rip-rap to get to the stream.. The boa system I had on a previous pair broke, but they make a replacement kit that wasn't to difficult to install.

Very helpful information. Thanks for taking the time. I have always heard great things about Red's Fly Shop and now I've seen direct proof. I just got a pair of these new and I was going to switch to the rubber Klingon sole and did a quick search so that I knew what I was doing. Voila. There was your well produced video. Thanks.

Love my Korkers - I have one of the lower end models and it's held up great and is really comfortable. It's nice to be able to change soles and put on my aluminum bars when I'm walking on those big round slime covered rocks on the Madison and on some other free stone rivers I fish. Otherwise I like their basic rubber sole.

Hey Joe, I just got my 1st pair of Korkers "The Dark Horse" about 2 months ago and I absolutely love them ... They're extremely comfortable and eliminated all foot cramping I was getting with my other brand of boots. The Boa system is amazing because makes getting in & out of the boots effortless. ❤👍 .. it's nice option instead of having two pair of boots. felt is banned in some jurisdictions, so i can use felt in my local waters (i prefer it for better traction), but switch to rubber when I go fishing to another state

I just picked up the Korkers Axis wet wade shoe. I love being able to swap soles between my Korker Terror Ridge boots and these Axis wet wading shoes. I have to say, the Axis is about as comfy as a good running show. And I have weird hobbit feet.

I have brand new K boots for winter hiking, comes with cleats. So I just pull the tab real hard to remove? Afraid I'm gonna break those orange keys off. was thinking a screwdriver to depress the keys?
@redsflyshop
@redsflyshop Жыл бұрын
Hi Pamela, you can push those keys in if you want but typically I just pull the tab on the sole and it peels right off. If you are having trouble, I would watch the videos on the Korker's site. They have some really good clips on their for changing soles. Hope you like them!

I'm so confused about how to wade with these boots during winter. If the water is in the 40s let's say and weather is upper 30s, how do I wear Korkers wading boots and keep my feet dry in cold weather? I have a wet suit pants and vest that i want to use in winter with Korkers wading boots. Do I find waterproof socks for winter? I know the boot will bring water in, and I assume I shouldn't be wet wading in winter.. 2nd question, I hear the soles can come off when in use on the Korkers. How often or how likely am I tobhave sole issues with Korkers? I fish in Tennessee rivers near Smokys where there are large slimy rocks, so I need something not to slip and just ordered a pair of Korkers for myself and a pair for my wife. What am I missing here?
@redsflyshop
@redsflyshop Ай бұрын
Hi Stan, good question! Sounds like you are ready for some cold weather fishing. I would get a set of traditional waders and pair those up with your boots. redsflyfishing.com/collections/wading As far as the soles coming off, I lose about (1) per year with hundreds+ days of wading.

I have felt sole boots but I've heard that some states have outlawed them, anyone know what states don't allow them any longer? How is the fit with Korker's, do I need to buy a larger size or are they made to fit with Neoprene boots?
@redsflyshop

I wear my street shoe size, I am a size 11 in everything including Korkers, running shoes, hiking boots, and flip flops. So I wouldn't buy up a size unless you are a "half sizer".

I’m hoping someone can answer this for me, I know it’s an old video! The website says the soles are unisex, and to buy the size that your shoes are. I can’t imagine that a sole for a size 11 men’s will also fit a size 11 women’s shoe? The shoe has a third number on the bottom (10 in this case). Is that the size I should go off of? Thanks!
@redsflyshop
@redsflyshop 2 ай бұрын
Great question, yes that is the case. The # on the bottom is the sole size that you need to order. Thanks!

I have had the same boot for 4+yrs. really like them but in the past year it has become extremely hard to “un-pop” the Boa turn dial to get out of the boots. I need to use a screwdriver often or something to pry up. Any suggestions how to fix is greatly appreciated.

I sized up in both the Axis (WW shoe) and the Terror Ridge. I too have wide hobbit feet with not much arch (pronation) and I have to say, THEY COMFY. (I really like the heel lock in the Teror Ridge.) Being able to swap soles between my boots and wet wading shoes is pretty awesome.

I WAS a big fan of Korkers, but after numerous failures of them to support older models I quit. Not everyone can afford to purchase a new pair of wading boots as models change. I even offered to do the repairs myself, all I needed was the part...nothing. They don't stock parts! NO Go korkers!
