The fact that there are like 7 separate Japanese things with *slightly* different pronunciations makes me wonder if we've been treating the English language too harshly...

ikr? even a simple combination of letters/japanese characters can mean different things depending onn the context

Fun Fact: Sonic's VA Juni'chi Kanemaru before getting into VA and being the Japanese voice for Sonic was a English Teacher in Japan.

Isn't he still? Or did he stop?
@Dorian_Scott Жыл бұрын
@@megapulsar9244 I don't think he's a teacher anymore. He still voices Sonic tho. I just discovered that he was in the Japanese dub of the Sonic Boom cartoon show. I'm not sure about the recent movies because I remember reading somewhere that he was not casted for Sonic's role.

Somehow, considering it's Japan, I am so very not surprised.
@paperluigi61328 ай бұрын
@@Dorian_ScottI’m curious about how foreign dubs for Sonic Boom were handled, since the English VAs have confirmed that a lot of what made it into the final product was ad-libbed. Not Robin Williams’s Genie levels of ad-libbed, but still. Did they translate the original scripts, or did they translate the final audio?

Juni'chi Kanemaru is a great VA for Sonic. I love it when he randomly breaks into English like in Sonic X or the Adventure games. After all, before doing voice over work, he was an English teacher in Japan.
