KOTD FLATLINE: $5000 GRAND PRIX FINALS - THESAURUS/ILLMAC vs PORICH/DIAZ
Hosted By: Organik, Gully Tha Kid & Lush One
All good things must come to an end. In some cases, that end is anti-climatic. A whimper. In others, it's an explosion. After months of build up, the 2 vs. 2 Grand Prix would be the latter. 16 teams had been cut down to 2, with Flatline setting the stage for the final showdown between West Coast legends The Saurus and Illmaculate and GTA underdogs poRICH and Diaz. Saurus and Illmac rolled over the competition every step of the way to the finals, rarely seeming challenged as they added a series of new bodybags to their always growing 2 vs. 2 resume. Diaz and Rich found themselves stuck in a few more dogfights along the way, forced to continuously step up their game and rise to the occasion in making it to the end of the road. By the time this battle had been decided upon, the tensions were already high. They would end up spilling over into the battle itself. Controversial material, lines crossed, a physical altercation and an impossibly close decision all combined together to make this perhaps the most hyped match of the entire Grand Prix. Which only seems fitting, of course. When good things come to an end, it's always preferred that they go out with a bang.

Anthony Gambin Respect isn't talking during other people's rounds which got Diaz shoved in the first place. Not to mention that cleaner performances don't account for your material not being as good. This may be the biggest robbery on KOTD, and the judges are lucky they didn't have their segments filmed.

TheSaurus did cross the line a little, but that is NOTHING compared to how much stuff these guys did. They had crowd reaction on their side and sometimes without even saying ANYTHING clever.

Illmaculate is my favorite battler of all time and I always thought he and Thesaurus slightly lost this battle. Beyond the loss of composure, The slipped rebuttals, and The slightly weaker angles, PoRich and Diaz ran through the first and third so fluidly and every line was damn near a haymaker imo. they closed stronger and they had a flawless performance all the way through. you can't win them all and it obviously wasnt going to be the last of them anyway so why cry over questionable judgement? these guys were legends before they walked in the door so nothing changes from that if they lose lol

TheSaurus and Illmac are two of my favorite battlers period and arguably the GOATS in this 2 on 2 ish....but they clearly lost here not for lack of bars but due to Illmac's stumbles and TheSaurus letting his emotions get the best of him...BTW...I am American so PoRich and Diaz being Canadians make no difference to me...

I like how Rich and Diaz tried to do their own spin on Thesaurus & Mac's "Entertain that" scheme and have the nerve to think "advocate that" fits the rhyme scheme. Auto L for Rich and Diaz. Finalist in a 2v2 tournament and can't even recognize basic rhyme structure.

8:50, PoRich talks about The Saurus' dad. The Saurus gets visibly upset. 9:58, Diaz interrupts, Illmaculate tells him to "shut the fuck up" and The Saurus pushes him. Reference for the people watching this battle. I generally like KOTD, but they have to stop judging battles, their judging is fucking horrible. A lot of people say this was a screw job as was the Dizaster vs Arcane. Battle leagues that judge battles are the fucking worst kind of leagues. They always get it wrong.

Porich has a commanding presence and charisma. Especially if you were there live; You'd be emotionally sucked in. And even though thesaurus and ill maybe had more difficult bars in total: their performance as a team was not as convincing. There's more than just content that goes into the judging. 2-1 Porich and diaz winning 1 and 3. Had ill and thesaurus held it down well round 2 they'd have won.
