Note that Karburundum is *very* hard to mine - it's basically only available in low solar orbit, on the surface of Eve, and I think on Eeloo. You may want to mine something else and buy Karburundum back on Kerbin (where it's available for purchase - but only purchase.)

I hope we might get a KSP expansion pack or better yet sequel that can let us reach this level of ship building, imagine assembling an orbital shipyard so you dont have to launch everything from the ground, assemble a colony ship where onece it touches down on a planet you can access an interface to start constructing colony modules, and so much more.

For stuff like this I'd love to see a sleep schedule mod,so basically if a module has beds they can sleep a lot faster than sleeping in their seats and if they don't sleep/get woken up early they loose proficiency of their levels so they'll be less capable of their roles,perhaps low level kerbals can't do anything at all when they're tired, to combat this you might have your 2 or 3 pilots staggered to switch places on rotation of the sleeping schedule.

That smaller module you said was "useless" is meant to be placed in that Airlock/EVA area with the hatch. It has a good number of configurations in it for different resources. Still not sure how to use it when it's there, but it does have a place.

I don't like that the huge main body only has an impact resistance of 7 m/s. That means that it's relatively easy to bump into an asteroid and have the entire 1.7 billion credit spaceship poof into non-existence. It'd be better (I find) if it was a bit tougher, and broken into a few more parts. That way, should you end up with a catastrophic impact, you'd only lose a bit of the ship.

Thanks! Builing a ME: Andromeda Hyperion Ark right now and this fits perfect! Built the most with OPT Spaceplane (if thats how its called) It has enough Delta V to go from low sun orbit to the Eeloo and back 3 times without refuling, but in that case it has 2 big mining vessels,got 10 Drop-Pods stored in it which can transport 1 of my 15 rovers/base parts down to the surface and than return into orbit. Sorry i just love this thing :3 its 5 times the length of the ship you showcases and the only problem is the huge lag

And here i went and built a Star Citizen Hull-C fro all my cargo needs. Love the look of these. Im with you with the love of stock alike and this does look very close, however its a bit rough at the seams and some parts almost look like they haven't been modeled completely. Just the way things fit together almost doesn't look like they should connect that way.

You know if you hold left "Alt" key you can pin point nodes for precise attaching. great for hard places when trying to attach a part.

I've just added this to my USI constellation career game, it's a looooong way off till I get that far but one day! Using Kerbal Construction time is slowing the game down a fair bit, but Strategia and the mining opportunities from USI should allow me to fly through the tech tree and start making some real bucks. These parts are actually too cheap for me so I've modded them to be more in line with the USI freight transport parts. Speaking of which, I' have successful launched a 900 ton FTT ship and will take up the challenge of orbiting this one. Even with 6 times rescaled kerbin. i.imgur.com/nBGL9ss.png After a few test launches I've discovered 2 important things, first that the engine has more than enough thrust to actually get the ship moving off the ground without any add on boosters. Second: I can't controll it at all because the asymmetrical design completely has the center of mass misaligned with the center of thrust even using the mass shifting feature. Edit: I have a craft that is stable and capable of launching, the engine needed shifting to the left and up slightly to make it stable. Also I used two of the large USI FTT toroidal reaction wheels. BUT, this craft is mysteriously exploding 2000 meters above the launch pad, even with unbreakable joints and no craft damage on. I thought maybe it was too big but I just launched a 12000 vessel successfully so it can't be that.
