Join Kevin as he sits down with actor and comedian Jay Mohr (Mohr Stories, Jerry Maguire). With much conversational digression, Jay chats about painting pictures with words and how never to do an impression of 'them' for 'them'.

Jay Mohr is a perfect example of a guy who is incredibly talented, thoughtful, dedicated to his art, and just plain good, but for whatever reason was never truly accepted by the Hollywood major players. Probably better that he wasn't, honestly. Anyway, whatever, he's a genius.

Jay' s - Brand, is so sick! This is my third time watching this...I am staggered by how profound it is...I've heard nearly every podcast he has and this is one of his great ones! Comedians are the Aristotle's, Ovid's and Machiavelli's of the current age. Jay makes A very profound statement; "The pauses make a symphony" Jay Mohr Dec 6 2016 - 54:16...I am officially recognizing and attributing that phrase to Jay Mohr... That story Jay told about not going to the mic while channeling Buddy Hackett was so beautifully told, it choked me up a bit. I'm 60 so I remember Buddy in his prime...I never realized how profound he was and Jay's beautiful dead balls on impression is very touching. If you've ever seen the Paulie movie about a parrot, Jay does the voice; You can really hear Buddy Hackett in it...I hope he did it as homage...I didn't put that together till now...Paulie finding Maria...Forgetaboutit...I'm fighting tears thinking about it... The best compendium of Jay's work is on this dudes channel... kzfaq.infoplaylists Staggering profundity!

For anyone who needs to know. Jay after his first marriage tried so hard to make his 2nd work. He found religion. He devoted to having a child. He made sure to let his wife do shit like write one of his specials. She ended up being a psycho and trying to ruin his life cuz his career was doing better than hers. They ended up divorcing. This video is showing how jay chose having some booze to try and cope as opposed to leave his wife. If you listened to opie and Anthony he was the most loyal person in the world if you loved him back. I imagine this woman betrayed him enough to push him to the edge. Poor jay.

People who assume that a comedian is high on drugs are ignorant of the physical high these two guys experience just from riffing with each other. Feeling your skills tested in a live setting is a rush. These two respect each other and complement each other as entertainers. They share many of the same knowledges and passions. Just imagine the rush you'd get being either of these guys in this video.

I don't really need to change my mind, you can still enjoy him without my opinion interfering. I typically would rather listen to Louis, Jim Jeffries, Patrice on O&A among others. I am very familiar with all his work since renting Suicide Kings back in the day. I don't hate him, just not a "huge" fan of his stand up. His podcast with the right guest is great and on classic O&A he is great. Unhinged and slightly anxious Jay was wonderful. For those wondering, he and Kevin do a "Walken-off" on O&A.
