I understand what you mean about Garam but you forget that people don't know the victim either. A person coming from nowhere with zero or fabricated proof and random allegations cannot be trusted. So the argument that you cant defend an idol because you don't know them is definitely obliterated when you defend a "victim" when you don't know them either. On top of it, when accusations come out we don't even know who the victim actually is. The idol could be the true victim of malicious character assassins. So people have a right to defend them so long as there is proof and or logic in their arguments. So no, knowledge of the idol is irrelevant. Edit: Also people were insulting her and her talent, guilty or not people have the right to defend her from that.

1:34 gonna slightly disagree with this one. There's a few groups that I have legitimately liked every comeback (most of these are from "nugu" companies). Dreamcatcher is one of those groups, there are of course some songs that I like less than others but overall I don't think there's a single comeback that I don't like from them and I think this sentiment is shared by a lot of insomnias (fandom name), they just constantly release bangers. Also I don't think there's anything wrong with liking every song from your favs, as long as you're being genuine with yourself.

I listen to almost every song(even bsides) whenever its released by any group.(sometimes the dance video) If i like the song i add to my playlist and if i dont like it i just dont listen to it anymore. I dont know 90% of the idol names. But by seeing them i think i can at least tell which group they belong to. I dont watch any other stuff related to them. (sometimes i watch ranking videos such as who are popular, who has more album sales etc etc) Does this make me a kpop stan? lol

1:34 i hate to be that person, but looking through some group's discographies (let's say ateez for example), i think it's safe to say that there are literally no skips in their albums. though you might not listen to one of their songs often as much as others, that song is still a bop, you can't lie. plus, it also depends on their music taste. whether they like loud, noisy music or more soft-spoken ballads, it's up to those stans whether they like every comeback or not :/

i think a lot of the point about not thinking about idols as humans ties into the "they already apologize" one. When you stop thinking about someone as a human being it goes both in a negative and a positive way. Since they're not human, they can do no wrong and therefore they can't get better or worse. It's either black or white with them. And as a consequence, people think as idols as either the most perfect thing ever or the worse person to ever walk this earth.

i think a lot of these points come down to making sure we're consuming the content in a conscious, somewhat critical (but not too critical :D), and responsible/healthy way. enjoying the experience without getting overly invested, not hyping things up just because we're used to hyping up stuff that meets a specific criteria (group/company/concept etc), being careful with parasocial relationships. that's a really good mindset imo, i hope it gets more popular - not even just relative to kpop but in general. the only point i'd disagree with is 7: could be an indicator of someone who's new-ish to k-pop, or really just a matter of taste. there's probably at least one b-side for everyone within those discographies, sure, but tbh listening to a whole new discography is a commitment, both time and energy-wise, and i think it's completely fine to skip a group if the few songs you HAVE heard from them were not your style. i'm guessing this point was more on the unserious side though (?) thanks for the video! definitely taking it as a sign to finally get into rv more :DD

the pre debut stanning thing is always interesting to me, cause for example I _did_ stan Purple Kiss before Ponzona was released. However they actually had a YT channel for like 2-3 years before debut where they posted vlogs, vocal/dance covers and other games and stuff, and they also had two pre-release songs and 1thek content (so you could get to know the members and also their talents/abilities). I think Nmixx did a similar thing if I'm not mistaken. So in cases like that I can completely see why/how you'd stan them at debut, or even before, cause there's actual reasons why you consider yourself a stan. However with the new YG group (baby monster?) or even groups like Lesserafim I don't understand how you can like them before debut, cause what do you even have to go on? How do you know you will like them? Or their music?

I honestly stayed the long time neutral with Garam’s situation, when i heard and saw a text from Garam. It really made me think, did she really deserved all the hate? Pretty much every K-Pop stan is a red flag to some extent for me because of what happened
