In this episode everyone i go over the mnachine and update everyone on the progress i have made to this point including side brace modifications, tank modifications and other things.

An idler gear takes stress in 2 directions at once. They are made stronger. They are not strong enough. They seem to handle up to a 35CC V2 Taylor as long as it’s the upgrade hardened gear. They also seem to handle electric because it’s smoother. A 46GT will crack the idler into 5 pieces. I’ve epoxied the bearings into my idler. To see if it removes the gap and the outer race strengthens the gear by being bonded to it. Also, I used high end bearings and shimmed out left and right movement of the gears. Also used small drop of retaining compound to hood bearings steady in the case. But not on the diff bearings, I just shimmed them so they don’t move left and right constantly.

The stock gear plate is powder coated and it just looses its tolerance once the powder coat starts to wear out. The aluminum upgrade is 10 times better.

This video is awesome. Lots of information in a short video makes it easy for a hobbyist like me to go to a forum and easily research that model. I enjoy the research phase before a purchase.

Would you consider doing a future video on your thought process when choosing a motor size for a new build, and your opinion on Taylor motors vs A.L.X? I know my Primal is it's own unique thing and I will be a complete noob when I do my next/1st 5th scale 2 stroke.

Taylor sells everything you need to mount that. You’ll need to pick up some beveled knurled lock washers. That 71 will shake everything looose.

Yes, I understand. They make everything to mount it but I’m not afraid of a little modification to make the original parts work. I always like to see how far I can push my original equipment.

Right on man I was, of course, I was informed that you can buy all the parts to fit the 71 supreme in the vesla but I wanted to modify what is there and see how far it goes😁🤔😉

Get rid of the threads on the gear plate. Only use the threads of the engine.

Wow I didn't know the Baja transmission will fit in there either. You can probably run the Kraken arms and driveshafts with it.

Yeah, I think you probably could run the Kraken control arms. The aluminum transmission housing on the Kraken eliminates the need for the front hinge pin brace.

Also..don’t use the diecast metal gear plate an brake mount. Order the Kraken aluminum upgrade. The stock one will crack.
