I get a few burns on my watermelon vine. They're so vigorous though they recover. Probably most aggressive plant I seen grow aside from fruit trees

You need a float valve in a separate 5 gallon bucket that is fed from a larger reservoir of solution.

the goal was kratky hydroponics, not dwc, rdwc or dutch buckets. my house has no power outlets for outdoor use, so i built my goals around using no outdoor power for hydroponics, which worked great

@@albuquerquegardening3004 Kratky, used a float valve container attached to a solution reservoir barrel to keep his grow tank at a set level, so he didn't have to manually refill his tanks daily, it was gravity fed.

in the field watermelon needs about 1liter of water per plant and per day after the first month , i wonder if it's the same amount of water in hydroponics
@albuquerquegardening30042 жыл бұрын
this plant for sure drank more than that each day. I think that has to do with soil slowing down the nutrient/water update. water and food are just more easily available to the plants in hydro, so it grows faster. thanks for checking out my content!

Copost tee for hydroponic plant is good or bad, give solution or alternate idea 🙏
@albuquerquegardening30043 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have used compost tea in hydroponics and had great results. It adds micronutrients that may not be in your hydroponic nutrients.

I want my plant to grow no taller than 20 inches. Top the top. Then put it to bloom how much or how do you meadure master blend to bloom???
@albuquerquegardening30042 жыл бұрын
20 inches of growth can happen fast. i suggest using a food scale to measure Master blend 3 part fertilizer, half strength to not burn/overfeed the plant. keeping the plant below 20 inches tall is tricky though. best of luck to you!

If this is about tomatoes, there are interesting varieties available. I have a couple plants that won't grow taller than 2 feet before flowering and growing suckers out. But it's highly dependent on the market. People here usually grow in very limited spaces like balconies, so small varieties (with equally small fruit of course) are a huge chunk of the sales.
