This is the problem with our community. When a person is being too comfortable and have a lot of confidence, people say that he's arrogant and too over himself. But when people see a person being modest and humble, they still have something bad to say to that person. Wtf do u want really?

Seen him live a couple times where he's amazing and oozing personality and charisma. He spices up his set lists with unexpected, fun covers and medleys. At pre show M&Gs he takes the time to really engage with his fans. If you haven't seem him live it would be difficult to have an accurate opinion of his talent. He shines far brighter live than on records.

@@Tom_Radigan Well I'm sure Kris meant well however like I said, this was season 8 already. So it's not unreasonable that the judges will assume the people who audition are familiar with the show, know what it is all about at this point, and what to expect. So if you behave too humbly then it's not surprising that the judges may think you are being a little bit conceited. I like Kris alot btw, I was happy for his win and I think he's got a beautiful voice. But just pointing out that he was unprepared going into this audition here.

season 8 had the best narrative arc i've ever seen, with the underdog coming through to win the whole thing and forming an unlikely bromance with his complete-opposite "rival" this was damn good television.

He won, that can't be changed but to be honest...I really really think that Adam Lambert should have one. His vocal strength is great and powerful. Kris Allen is good but I think he's better with instruments than vocals. He's a good piano player and all, but Adam Lambert is a bit better than he is.

*won At least Kris could play other instruments. Piano and guitar by the way. Adam was fantastic vocally, but he could never break out of that one style of singing. Not even disco week. (Matt Giraud was my favorite. He was amazing disco week). Kris was hella creative with his arrangements too.

His voice is great. Heard him sang acapella impromptu during his visit here in Manila. His voice is much much better heard live. I didn't expect his voice so easy to the ears. I mean his voice is really really good! It maybe weak for others (specially those Glamberts or other Adam fans) but singing high notes doesn't mean his voice is poor.

American Idol season eight champ Kris Allen is currently working on songs for his second album, but apparently, he's also got time to write for other artists. Kris confirmed on Twitter what had previously been an online rumor: that he's co-written a song on the debut album from Glee star Matthew Morrison. The song is called "Still Got Tonight," and Kris co-wrote it with the two guys who co-wrote his hit single "Live Like We're Dying." Matthew's self-titled album is due out May 10th.

Wow at all the bitter comments...some of you need to get over yourselves. Kris won because he was AMAZING. He deserved to win just as much as Adam...it's not always about who has the highest vocal range, it's sometimes about how they connect. I loved both Kris and Adam (also Allison) on the show, but connected the most with Kris. He might not have the highest vocals, but he can convey the meaning and lyrics of every song beautifully. I never paid so much attention to a song's lyrics until Kris.

0:12 Gosh, I love that moment so much it was so... cute, really! :)) I love both Kris and Adam. And don't think they need to be compared... Kris is a very good singer, he really enjoys what he does without any theatrical stuff, we all know he just... not that kind of person. Adam loves to have lots of attention, to be theatrical n he always did. That's just what they are. They both do a very good music, and this is all that counts, i think.

By reflecting back of Kris performances on American Idol, he stayed humble and gave out his best. Honestly, reflecting back to this season, it was definitely confusing and unexpected! I'm sure all of contestants' are doing well now with their music career. :)

A lot of people bag on Kris because they think Adam should have won, but there really hasn't been a winner with such an absence of background as Kris had. Nobody really knew who he was until the top 10, and his finale performances earned him the title, idc what anyone says. Adam is just as successful w/out winning so why argue about it?

I think he won just because of conservative backward old-fashioned voters which Adam was robbed by. They just refused to give the win to a gay vocalist and gave it to the ordinary straight little guy but they really didn't care about vocal and musical abilities

In general, everyone with amazing vocals sound the best acapella - because it just shows off their voice. Idol albums (at least their first ones) are usually over-produced songs that it decreases our appreciation for their vocals. I wasn't a huge fan of Jordin Sparks 1st album (though I like her), but when I heard her sing acapella in her KZfaq videos (TheJoMoShow) - I about cried it was so beautiful. Anyway, I love love Kris and Adam.

I wouldn't say it's a lack of confidence. He was being honest. There ARE greater singers, nothing to be ashamed about that. And he wasn't ashamed so I take that as confidence. He got there, calm, knew he had skills, wasn't ashamed to say he wasn't the best. "Are you the best singer out there?" That's just a bad question, why even ask that? Arrogance is awful, that's a weapon of personal destruction! Be aware of who you are and where you're at- those don't conflict with confidence and strength.

What I really like about Adam is he's got more range and he's got more soul in his songs. Not trying to insult Chris (he's a pretty cool guy.) but I personally think Adam has more range, talent and soul in his music. He's induvidual and can go from the upbeat, fast songs to really slow songs. It takes a TON of talent to do that, and not many singers can possess that much range. Adam, on my opinion, won that season.

@calarkie I like Kris but it does you no favors to backhand Adam in praising him. Adam doesn't NEED anything either. He chooses to employ fireworks and explosions on some songs but when he drops out all the pageantry and even the music in some of his songs, his voice is still a force of nature. Period.

I cant remember the show, but I believe it was the last 8. photos of adam kissing guys was publicized and then he got in the bottom 3 even tho he did an absolute amazing performance. i even noted the judges said he was the best that week. In fact the judges rooted him on the whole competition with explicit remarks on him deserving the title at the finale. Adam as of now is more successful. Kris did a rap song, not his genre he blew it. in 4 years the kid will be singing at bars.

adam and kris are a diferent kind of artist!adam is more extravagant,make up,fashion clothes,concerts more dynamic,kris is more simple,t-shirt and jeans for him is perfect,he is always with his guitar,his concerts are more simple like him!they are different but amazing in their own way and they are such a good guys.if you don't like one of them give your opinion and say that you don't like but is completly unnecessary insult them!
