This is awesome. There are a lot of organizations that take card donations. I work at the San Diego Rescue Mission and we love to have cards for the guests in our emergency shelter. It makes a difference and brings a little hope.

I work at a Sheltered Workshop for people with Special Needs. I am an employee there. Our shop use to take used cards from the shredding room. We were told to cut off the notes from inside the cards. Then reuse them for Valentines Day,Mother’s Day,Father ‘s Day and Christmas. Then we would glue them onto construction paper,and draw pictures or whatever we wanted on the inside. Saves buying them. It’s also reusing. Sharen

I just found you and so glad I did. Since I do not do paper crafts for sale, I do not use the same brand of paper in each craft...I just use what I have. What you have done it absolutely fantastic. I love it. Keep up with the good ideas.

We usually donate scraps that we don't use to a pre-k class especially shapes and numbers. They love all the pretty colors.

I love scraps! I really hope this video helps people waste less. You can also save scraps for kids at kindergarten to play with or an artist friend (like me) who does art journaling or collage! All of those bits would fit in my art! 💛🧡💜💙💚💖❤

That was really impressive! You could bag those left overs up and donate them to a school, goodwill or pass on to a crafting friend. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who would love to work with those too!

This couldn't have popped up in a more timely manner. I have been making book markers that have left me with scraps I normally wouldn't use on a card. But now Instead of storing or trashing them, I can make some cards out of them. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Stay healthy and happy my friend!

I always watch the cards from scraps videos. I also have invested in the cover dies that help me use up scraps like hearts, quilt dies, grid squares dies, and diagonal strips cover dies. These type of dies also tone down loud designs by cutting them into smaller pieces, and help blend prints that I don't want to use into a larger background. I always reach for these cover dies at the end of a pad, or when I am left with 12 x 12 pages that do not lend themselves to cards. I found cover dies a good return on the investment since I use them somewhere for every paper pad. Thanks for the great ideas here.

When you first announced you'd save your scraps for all of 2021 to use in cards at the end of the year I could not imagine how you could make them work. There were so many styles I thought there was no way you could make them attractive. I am happy to say you proved me wrong, of course. LOL You are so creative and I very much appreciate all the work you do to film your videos. I enjoy watching each one of them and always learn something new from you. Fabulous job Kristie! You could donate these little things to a preschool or if the retirement community has art supplies/classes to them. I know kids love using glue and paper since I worked with them for 7 yrs. Enjoyed the video

These are great! Another lovely and inspiring video. I like to make "tiny notes" or "lunchbox cards" with my scraps. They are usually 3x3 or 2x3 cards that I tuck into my kid's lunches or backpacks, or leave in random places for my hubby to find. I will also use them to make gift tags for all occasions.

My mother used to leave me little notes in my lunch boxes as well. I am 50 now, and last week I found one of those notes I used as a bookmark in a very old book of mine. That touched me so deeply and brought back so many memories… Your kids are lucky to have a mom like you!

Wonderful idea for your left overs, giving them to retirement homes. I used to give all my cards to the church fetes & our local charity. Since COVID I’ve been left with a pile of cards, I’m not sure what to do with them.

Lovely set of cards using the scraps. Another way of using your paper strip scraps is the herringbone pattern.

All of those cards were wonderful! I put all my paper scraps (also fabrics scraps) in large baggies and donate them to a thrift shop. I’m sure someone can use them.

I really like the random striped cards that you did first. I have tried the other type of striped cards we see folks doing, but, I need something different, that I don't need to think too much about, and actually produce even more scraps!! I have ATC size winter colors to use up, and snow people stamps I want to play with. Somehow, I'll get Christmas cards out of them.☺️

WOW 🤯🤯🤯 way to go!!! I bet this was a lot of work. I have to thank you for saying it's ok to throw away scraps...I have bags and bags of scraps...I am going to go through my stash and do it! It gives me anxiety thinking about throwing away stuff but I have had soooooo many for years. ;) Thank you for the inspiration to purge my scraps!!!

Aw, thank you! It was a lot of work. Lol! I think sometimes crafters need to hear that it's okay to toss out those leftover scraps. We don't HAVE to use up every last teeny tiny piece. After all, there will always be more pattern papers to use. 😊

Kristie I loved this video! I have so much paper, I could rival michaels lol. I loved this video so much! I hope you decide to do more! Maybe break it up during the year? The 4 seasons, or even once a month so you don’t have to store the scraps for long. Just a couple ideas! I would also love to see you maybe do some without dies…..I don’t have them, so any ideas you have using scraps or even a video without dies would be so wonderful! there are some creators that do a great job using scraps im not into make cards per say but i am looking at a lot of paper artist because i plan to use every little piece of paper i have. I have been playing around to practice making boxes. i hated throwing away card stock so i started a master board for leftover cardstock. i cut my base to 8 1/2 by 11 standard american size. any piece of cardstock left over i put on the board using basic glue. it doesn't matter the color or size once its full i plan to cut it up and use it for tags. lookup master boards its a type of collage if you like mixed media you may like this. it can be cut up and used as a base for cards you can put hearts all over or die cuts. you can paint it if tou hate the colors. or use your paper punches to make embellishments. I believe i using everything if possible with no stress. i keep the board in my desk so its easy to stick the paper on. hope this helps you in your creative endeavors with no stress. try it or not
