Today it is a local recreation area at a distance of 1.5 to 2 kilometers north of Erding city center. The local recreation area was officially opened on May 20, 2017 by Mayor Max Gotz. The pond is 750 meters long from north to south and up to 600 meters wide. It has an average depth of 9 meters. The maximum depth is 35 meters. The pond is located at an altitude of 452 meters above sea level.
