This is precisely how the Armaments train blew up in Roseville, California, in April, 1973. The towering mushroom cloud and shock wave convinced everyone it was a nuclear detonation. Surprise, just 3 60K gallon freight cars of propane, in turn detonating 24 rail cars of bombs headed for Vietnam.

That route of tracks has many sidings content east and westbounds.The states started taxing the railroads by the mile of track versus the mile of route.in the early 70's the R×R SAID NOT SO FAST and and came up with the monitoring and track switching systems

@@kevind1980Seeing you don't know me, something I have fun with is pointing out crazy and improbable ways of dying. While I don't actually care as in I realize how unlikely some things are, say dying in a commercial airliner crash you have about the same odds you mention (Granted Boeing has been bent and determined to change this as of late when they used to be the safety king), you should see all of the people I see freak out when I point out stuff like this to them.

Propane at that temperature produces only CO2 and water vapor. Bad for the climate, yes, but _not_ poisonous.

We went by there on Sunday and it was still burning and my guess would be the s shaped curve before going under I-40 was taken way too fast. BTW, air quality when we passed by was not great but hey it's fuel burning so it's expected.
