KRS 58 "Bandit" Review: The Glass CANNON!

The Bandit is one of the few 8x8 vehicles that can handle large boulders with ease. Massive mud tires, and overall offroad ability make this truck a good pick for short hauls due to a small fuel tank. Its large powerful, yet fragile engine and small fuel capacity is the reason for it being called the "Glass Cannon." I want to thank everyone for your support as always; It means alot. Enjoy! Love ya'll! Please subscribe to the Channel!

For stability, you can do two things (its COG is way too far to the front!). 1. use semi trailers. The trailer holds it down. 2. Spin the crane 180 degrees, lower it, and extend it a bit. This moves the center of gravity back and down.
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
Indeed those 2 things do increase stability. Using the crane as a counter balance with cargo can help as well. Having the semi is such a huge help especially when the truck and trailer are at different angles. Good tips!

Commenting before watching the video: Love this small truck. When I first got it I put a maintenance trailer because it looked soo good on it. Big mistake. But then I realized what it's good for and have loved it ever since. It's my main truck for carrying long logs, I will take it before anything. It's very light so the heavy logs just makes it gain traction without messing the power, I think it's the shortest 8x8 truck that there is, good fuel range even though a bit thirsty. I've done logging missions on every single map until Amur (which I will be starting soon, but i'm taking a break from the game) and this truck has never failed me.

I agree with you for sure! More weight on its wheels really help traction. I loved using it wil semi trailers

Thanks for the review. I found this truck useful as a returning player early on in the game. I used it a lot while playing in co-op. Even without most of the upgrades it’s a great addition. Not sure why but I do like the looks of this truck, especially the interior and the roof rack. Just be careful of tipping until you unlock the wider mud tires. Thanks again for the review.

Its is great early game. The good thing is there arent allot of tippy parts in Black River so tipping isnt a huge concern. The interior is sweet looking. I like the bomber jacked in the back actually!. You're Welcome! I hope you enjoyed the review! Thank you for the recommendation!

Use of trucks depends on how you play the game. I like to collect trucks. One of each truck is good enough (except for the Tatarin, which I have 2, because of obvious reasons). This forces you to use different trucks in sometimes less than adequate situations and frankly, makes the game fun. On that note, I use the Bandit a lot. The limiting factor on vehicle choice is based on two issues, stability and fuel. I might choose other trucks for particularly unstable roads but this truck has a very appealing trait, almost nothing stops it. Sure it might slow to a crawl but with those Tayga tires it will make it through. The trucks usefulness depends solely on those tires alone. Do yourself a favour, don't bother with any other tires than those ones or you will spend a lot of your time waking this truck up from naps on its side. But with almost any task where there's going to be mud you can be sure this truck will pull it through. Sure, other trucks might do a better job or more efficient, but coming back to how I play, those trucks aren't always available. If I've already got a fuel tankers littered around the map then the fuel situation is reduced as well. I'm not terribly fond of the look and the sound but it will get cargo through the muck so I can overlook that. "The Bandit can do it" has been a phrase I've used plenty times.

If I were to chip in about the Bandit's stability, the specific issue I found is that it goes very light over bumps. When part of the frame flexes and lifts up, it likes to almost hover for a second or two before coming down. If the truck hits anything else before the wheels are planted again, there's a good chance that any rolling motion won't have wheels on the ground to counteract it. With the balloon tires, the suspension seems to be able to travel a bit more before losing contact with the ground. It's still not very forgiving, but using a little caution with the speed goes a long way towards preventing accidents.
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 ай бұрын
I agree with this. I believe the balloons are just softer than the normal single narrow tire options. The addition to this truck getting doubles on its rear is a game changer as well, but the doubles effectively stiffen its suspension which could disrupt its ability to keep wheels on the surface. Overall though, the balloons help a lot and the double tires it now gets, have been good options still :)

Before reaching Level 12, you don't have access to alternative tires. Until then, it's best to leave the truck in the garage. Because it can easily tip over in a curve if you leave the workshop too quickly. That thing spent more time on its side for me than any other vehicle.

I rescued White Western Star 4964 using Bandit. Roof-rack provides extra range and peace of mind despite small fuel tank. Pretty manageable truck that helped me complete many contracts. Also fuel economy is great.

I like to use the bandit as a rescue vehicle. With the maintenance frame it has good weight and stability and the weight distribution of the 8 big tires means you can cross some weak ice areas that are uncrossable for most trucks.

I used the bandit for the geographical exploration task in the drowned lands because of how slow the azov 64131 is when I used it for the north and west points, because of its size and moderately well stability it got me a step closer into unlocking the tuz 420. it’s currently one the trucks I use the most beside the tayga and zikz 605r, because of how reliable it is for any job you give it.

The Bandit does better with tall thin tires and a heavy load in the bed. I noticed this when pulling a trailer with metal beams. I swapped the tires and stuck the beams in the bed instead of on the trailer and had enough power and stability to pull the empty trailer to the garage in zimnegosk
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 ай бұрын
Indeed yes, the tires being narrow will sink and bite in better. However, there is a decision to be made with balance, but now that the bandit has duallies, they are gonna be a great option to mitigate balance concerns

that crane is packed wrong and interferes with the cargo rack, causin the truck to bounce on frame flec and to roll instead of twisting. Raising it slightly or turning it back and lowering into the bed removes that and my KRS flips much less. Thanks to whoever posted that issue on reddit, Earlier I had to remove the crane, Was sure it flipped because of the weight...

I heard the Tayga's TMHS I tires and the Bandit/ANK/etc AMHS I tires are not the same. While they look the same, the Tayga's TMHS I tires are classed as a Heavy tire. All other trucks that use these wide mudtires use the AMHS I, which are lighter and only classed as a Medium tire. So the Tayga's mudtires are technically still unique to the Tayga because it's exclusive TMHS I set is the only Heavy set of tires.
@NProvince
@NProvince 2 жыл бұрын
MHS means mud heavy single. So both tire sets have that same name. With the “T” and the “A” being different. It is odd that the Taygas name is different so what your saying could very well be true. Either way the Bandit needs those tires for balance for sure
@justinlynch3
@justinlynch3 2 жыл бұрын
@@NProvince Well the second vehicle to get those tires I'm pretty sure was the ANK, so if TMHS was Tayga Mud Heavy Single, maybe AMHS was ANK Mud Heavy Single? Just guessing, but yea I agree regardless if the tire is Heavy or Medium, the Bandit needs that wide stance. It does feel like there is some difference with the TMHS and AMHS. The ANK, Warthog, Actaeon and Bandit are still tippy even with the AMSH, they help yes, but you still need to be careful with those trucks. Trucks with the AMHS also wheel spin a lot as well, you really need High Low and even Medium Low to crawl along effectively with those tires, they don't feel the same as how the Tayga feels. The AMHS really do feel like they add some stability though a wide stance, but they also don't add much weight low down, which you would expect a heavy tire to do. So I dunno, maybe there is some truth to it. I'm just passing along what I've heard.

I bot this because it has the tayga tires and up til now I still havent found the Tayga and I refuse to google it :D Ridiculously tippy but have done a few missions with it. Last night I think I’ve found a niche for it. With the maintenance add-on, it becomes one of the most stable trucks I’ve used. And with the light weight and those tires it can go almost anywhere, including traversing thin ice, which is valuable in kolapen.

For me the bandit has become, soo fast its not even fair for the scouts :)) Its becomed THE SCOUT truck for each and every map! Maintenance add-on on its back, and I can crawl over anything, especially rocks(did it on the Tennesse raceway map, with the rock crawl trials). Very tippy? Yea, but I almost always managed to save it from tipping over (just spin the camera counter the direction you roll on, and pray to Saber there is a tree for yer winch :)) btw, Got 2 of them atm, both in scout setups! also, its the best for rescue missions as well with those big mf's! Just go to the location, yoink the winch, and just cruise out!
@maplegamer4736
@maplegamer4736 Жыл бұрын
Yeah its the stability that holds this truck back, so with the maintenance add-on its almost unstoppable! I'm still testing out ways to keep it stable while doing hauling missions. All that power seems wasted on being a scout/fuel/service truck.

After tipping it 4 times in Alaska (3 in White Valley, once in Pedro Bay) I was thinking about selling it. After watching the video, I’m going to try it again, in a different region; particularly for logging. In Alaska, I was using the chained tires. How is it in Taymyr? Thanks for the review; liked & subscribed.
