We go back to the Kruger at the end of the South African summer. Skukuza is the biggest camp in the Kruger National Park and is not to everyone's taste but we find it to be a great camp always with chances of seeing lions and wild dogs.

We were also in Kruger in January and February 2023, and we remember seeing you at one of the rest camps. Your videos are really amazing, and you've done a great job documenting your series. We love to watch your videos!!!😊😊

Pay off the mortgage, pay off the bills and go for it. That's what we did but it took a long time!

Did you taste the marulas? All those male lions were impressive. Thank you again! (I fear withdrawal after this series ends)

Only the ones in the bottle from the shop! Wasn't sure if they are edible straight from the tree. Three more to go in this series then a longish wait I'm afraid. Looks like we might go again in August next year.

Glad you got your leopard! A shame when the gravel roads are closed but you ended on a good note with the big 5. Thanks for sharing with us.

Loved that shot taken from the bridge , probably looking down at a large sandbank dotted with resting buck and a winding river . It had a hushed expectation quality like a start of a ballet 🫶

We passed that spot a number of times when it was just 'another empty river' but on this occasion we were struck with the thought 'This is Africa!'. It had a real magical quality. The animals were still there the following day but then they were gone and it became just another empty river again. It was a magical moment and I'm glad you appreciated it aslo.

We really look forward to your videos and really enjoy them. We spent 3 weeks in KNP in April/May this year and some of those roads were still closed, we could see how much damage there had been in places.....hectic. We try and avoid the tar roads as much as possible, somehow seeing nothing on a gravel road never seems as bad as seeing nothing on a tar road lol. Have you ever stayed in any of the Bushveld Camps, we prefer them as they are quiet and peaceful. Thanks for all the hard work that goes into producing your videos, it's much appreciated by two more old codgers. Safe and happy travels.

Absolutely agree with you on gravel vs tar. We've stayed at Shimuweni, Sirheni and Talamati all of which have much better accomodation and are lovely, quiet and peaceful. Each time we try to do something different and this visit was a deliberate choice to stay for longer than usual at just the main camps. Hopefully we will be trying Byamati next time if we can get a booking. Thanks for your appreciation.

We have stayed at Biyamiti several times, great camp and we've had some special sightings along the road to the camp. We stayed at Bateleur camp for the first time this year and we were bowled over. It will be at the top of our list when we go back. So quiet and peaceful and access to the Rooibosrand Dam, a great place to just sit with a coffee and rusk and to wait and see what comes along. We are off to the Kgalagadi next year and as this will be our first visit there we have been watching your videos to get useful info. Thanks once again, keep those videos coming....@@oldcodgerwithacamera

Many thanks. I have a video called Filming the Kruger & Kgalagadi which explains everything, check it out. You should find it by clicking on videos on the channel or at kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZuihbZe1dqYcqs.html (if that link works).

Get the bums first as the banker shots! Often you drive by and look in the mirror and they've gone!

It is great that a white bloke goes to South Africa to shoot with a camera and not a rifle.

I'd happily take a rifle to South Africa if it were legal to shoot poachers!

where did you get the map from?

It's the Kruger Map & Guide that you can buy in any of the park shops. I don't think it's easily available outside the park.
