I cried as a little kid when Rell got flattened. He was so noble and heroic, you hate seeing someone like that dying in that way.

Rell was our example to follow. This is why we are the brave men that we are today. We followed the example of our childhood heroes.

And if he survived the death of the Beast and the destruction of the Black Fortress, the curse might have been lifted from himself and his people. But he never made it. So much tragedy. This movie is often joked about(often for good reason), but it understands good fantasy writing at times.

Ynyr: _"Once his race had two eyes, like other men, until his forefathers bargained with the Dark Ones. They gave up one of their eyes in return for the power to see the future. But they were cheated, for the only future they were permitted to see . . . was the time of their own death . . . . They are sad, solitary creatures, rarely seen"_

Thats why Rel was awesome. He defied the destiny that The Beast had set for him. Thats why when he's getting crushed to death he's saying "Its not my time! He beat the BEAST by sheer will.

How I remember this movie was I read my dad's diary last year (he died March of 2019), he's kept diaries from 1968 to late 2018), in the 1983 diary, he wrote "I took the kids to see the movie "Krull"", and when I read that, the movie name rung a bell and I had flash memory of the movie, I remember it was a damn good movie for its time
@idipped25213 жыл бұрын
It was pretty good. I watched it as a kid and enjoyed it. Some of the acting and FX were pretty corny, and the villain at the end died really quickly and took away the sense of danger but Liam Neeson and the Cyclops did a really good job of acting in this movie
@matthewdavies97844 жыл бұрын
Bernard Bresslaw was only really known as a comic actor and most cinema goers probably didn't even recognise him at the time. But he somehow brought a lot of dignity to the role and he remains by far the best part of this movie.

His death scene actually made me terrified of automated closing doors (like elevators) for years. I actually remember it happening slightly differently. I distinctly remember his face crushing. Maybe that was a childhood mental edit..

The scream of those Slayers were pretty damn scary and made for excellent villains along with the grotesque Beast. I'd love to have seen a spin off for Cyclops, showing the story of how his people traded one eye, got tricked, and how he arrived to the party in Krull.

The late, great Bernard Bresslaw as Rell...more known for his work in comedies such as The Army Game and the Carry On film series He was 6ft 7ins tall, and built like the side of a house, so they must have put him in lifts and made the costume with extra padding to make his already imposing frame even more impressive A decent movie, too!
