Hi Shari, sorry no we didn't get to it. Since we're no longer together and I (Oleg) and no living in the Philly area in PA, there won't be any new videos on this channel. However, the videos continue on my new (actually original) channel: Ice Dancer Oleg. I currently don't have anyone to do the dance with, but I will add it to my list of requested videos and will get to it once I find a new partner.

Sophia B Sophia B?pageId=108215770331314181423 We will make a video explaining the differences. Forwards Progressives and Crossovers: are essentially the same. Here in the US, Skaters in Learn to Skate learn Crossovers first, and they are taught to pick up one foot and cross it over the other. The first time a skater in the US learns a Progressive is usually when learning the first dance: the Dutch Waltz, the Progressive is the first three steps after the left, right, left, right intro strokes. The feet glide past each as they cross. As skaters get better, the action becomes more subtle and Crossovers and Progressives look essentially the same. Backwards Progressives and Crossovers: are very different. Backwards Crossovers involve crossing the foot on the inside (of the circle you are skating) crossing under the foot on the outside (of the circle you are skating). Backwards Progressives involve sliding your feet forward as you push. These feet don't cross. The lady's first dance steps after the intro steps of the Fourteenstep are backwards Progressives and the man's steps are forward Progressives. Hope this helps!
